Transformers the Movie
See the fun characters, you see on the small screen every single week, in their GREATEST adventure ever

... for twenty minutes in which they're brutally culled to make way for new 'fun' characters. ENJOY!
Hey now, the commercials were completely honest about what you were going to see!
"It's a story that will surprise and shock even the most diehard Transformers fan!"

I like how one person questions if we can get this for Prime, as if they haven't done several Dead Prime figures already.

They've done dead Prime, based on him turning grey when he died.
I don't think they've done the Prime equivalent of these; normal colors, with the damage molded in.

Never saw that commercial before. Kinda spoils the big reveal a bit though.

Didn't one of the MP figures include optional battle damage parts?

Yes, I know, that's a much different line with a much higher price point, I just seem to remember it but can't be bothered to check the wiki.

Eh, I’ll take it. Sure beats having to wait months at a time for low-hanging fruit to take potshots at other users with.

I wanna see them do Starscream, ......... with a scrunched crown and a bunch of grey plastic dust.

What would be cool (IMO), is if the recently-released BWVS-08 Ghost Starscream could have a stand-alone version. Don't misunderstand: I completely get why he was released with Waspinator, and I love it. But a version that included the flattened crown, maybe a tattered cape, and a pile of ash as a display base, would have been great.

I'm not sure that this would necessarily fit the SS86 theme (parts of it are relevant, but he wasn't a ghost yet in the movie). However, I feel like it would be fun and in keeping with the current trend to do the same characters, but you know - dead.

Looks like Hasbro screwed up the embargo date for Studio Series 86 Commander Optimus on Amazon for Europe.

There's some stuff I like - the alt mode is generally good, and the blast effects to replicate the movie take off are fun. And it's just generally done properly with pinned wheels etc and a proper sized trailer.

But there's some bizarre dropping of the ball. Making his antenna movable means they stick out way too far and it looks awful. The end effect is the head sculpt looks so much worse than the VNR or Earthrise ones. Baffling. And the windows are clear plastic with goofy bright blue paint on the inside and inconsistent with the command deck that has a proper transparent blue window - surely the worst of all possible worlds for everyone. I also cannot get my head around the grey stripe on the torso.

Its definitely a very good Optimus Prime. Probably the definitive Sunbow Op for your main line sort of release.

That said, I've got a lot of other very good Optimi, so I might wait around and see what other sort of releases this thing gets. I can't imagine it won't go through the same bevy of reuses that every Prime mold gets.
