Yeah, I guess it IS what he looks like in the cartoon, but if you had asked me a while back, I would have sworn he was purple/black/yellow. It's definitely a Mandela Effect sort of situation.

He was and he wasn't. That part of his body changed colors whenever he transformed. In bug mode, it was purple. In robot mode, it was gray.
Guess this means they have to bring back the old Color Changers gimmick in order to give us a completely accurate Bombshell.
I feel they should have prioritized bug mode show-accuracy over robot mode show-accuracy tbh.
I think their thinking was that there were already a lot of purple Bombshells out there, so they wanted to do at least one version of the original toy that used the grey colouration.
If this line lasts long enough, you know they'll sell us another one that prioritizes bug mode.

I feel like the Retro Generations line is set to be this line's replacement for next year, based on how Walmart's recent reissue sublines have alternated with 1980s-themed sublines of modern figures.
