To be fair, there was already five films of "This" before the Bumblebee movie, so a new overstuffed movie noisemaker film is more of a return to form.

The first three are really not as overstuffed as people remember. Things weren't always TLK bad.

The first film was absolutely overstuffed. It had 13 different cybertronian characters, the majority of which get little to no characterization or screentime. On top of that, you have the Shia subplot, the military subplot, the hacker subplot (that goes NOWHERE)... It's just all done in a semi-cohesive manner so it's not as apparent as future movies.

They unfortunately get even more stuffed as time goes on.

People complain about the continuity snarls in the films; meanwhile, the G1 cartoon couldn't decide on how the origins of Megatron and the Constructicons were related...

Not surprising that people have different expectations between a cheap cartoon from the 80's meant entirely to sell toys, and and a series of modern blockbusters with budgets in the hundreds of millions of dollars.

Well, you got to have more villains for them to fight, so throw in some Terrorcons and Unicron as their master. I wonder if we get a reformatting scene in this film too?

You mean, where a potentially, already ruined Bayverse film is transformed into something worth watching? ;)

One rumor I heard is that the film will be about the same duration as Bumblebee. So, even if it sucks, at least it won’t give people time to linger assuming it keeps a good pace with the action sequences.
Hell, I’m half able to assemble the plot from these two trailers:

Opens with an Optimus narration about finding refuge on Earth and Transit gets sacrificed to the action film gods. We move to Noah and Elena working at a museum and accidentally trigger a trans warp key, leading to the introduction of the Terrocon Trio coming to Earth. Mirage brings Noah to BB and Prime because of the Cybertronian artifact, leading to them going to the museum and the initial attack by the Terrorcons and Airrazor gets involved. The Terrorcons get the key and leave, leaving the Autobots to muster themselves and their allies and head down to South America to track the rest.
They get harassed by Terrorcons until the Maximals interfere, leading to a “meeting of the minds” where Primal gives an exposition dump about Unicron and the Terrorcons. A few more bits of the Terrorcons getting more keys leading to them activating Predacons as fodder to keep the Autobots and Maximals occupied at a space bridge while Unicron is called. A big battle later, bad guys defeated, and a tease that Unicron isn’t done yet.
And I’m betting it will be revealed that Scourge is a reformatted Optimus Prime, and the Terrorcons are reformatted Autobots and Decepticons from before Unicron consumed Cybertron.

Also, got a question for those in the US…
Are you guys able to find the Core Deluxe (NOT the 3 pack) and Core Voyager figures anywhere besides Walmart?

I’m wondering if Walmart got an early exclusivity deal with the Core Assortments, like they did with the Avengers Mechasaurs line. That line is exclusive to Walmart until the fall. That might go to explain why we haven’t been able to get these figures online.

The only Core toy I've seen at Walmart is Voyager Prime. I don't know if that's because that's all they're getting initially, or because other people always snatch up the Primals before I can get there.

Because the new trailer has me feeling froggy…I’m going to try and predict the remaining RotB products for the end of the year. Given how Hasbro has handled prior films across multiple lines, I’m not expecting more than one more wave of most assortments. Repaints will likely be relegated to retailer exclusivity, though “running changes” are fair game (I still hope that Hasbro running changes Core Voyager Primal to either sporting the gold paint deco, a “charcoal” base color rather than “ash grey”, or both). Optimus Primal and Nightbird are the only Core figures I’m hoping to see changes on, both NEED them more than the others, IMO.

So, let’s see how overly optimistic I am:
Core Deluxe- The only characters missing that would fit here would be Battletrap and Arcee. That’s ASSUMING a third wave appears in this assortment. If Hasbro needed a third figure, Bumblebee was seen in the recent trailer sporting his Battlemask, I presume that would be a safe option to round out the assortment. Looking at prior efforts in this style, the average looks to be between 6-9 figures over the course of a year. And I’m not expecting RotB to roll into next year with another new movie line due next spring.
Core Voyager- About the only character left is Scourge. I would be SHOCKED if a Voyager Scourge didn’t make it out in this segment.

Beast Alliance:
Battlemaster- Primal is confirmed for wave 2 and Airrazor popped up in retailer listings. A safe third wave would be Arrowstriope (as Tigatron?), Chainclaw, and Sandspear sporting new names and deco.
Battle Changers- With wave 2 being Mirage and Scourge, I’m leaning to the final batch being Nightbird, Optimus Primal, and Wheeljack
Weaponizers- Going with the broad trend I’m seeing in Beast Alliance, I’m guessing the third wave will be Mirage (got to make use of that Porsche license!), Scourge, and Bumblebee. Bumblebee is a certainty, IMO. It’s a flip between the other two
Combiners- I’m certain I saw listing for Mirage. And again, he’s being positioned as the new kid appeal character and has a major car license attached. The easy alternative would be Wheeljack, but I could see another Terrorcon in here as a dark horse listing.

The only other thing I see getting a new entry would be the transforming Masks. Optimus Prime seems like an easy option, and could be something to be carried over into Transformers ONE.

So since Unicron's a thing do we get Studio Series 125 titan class Unicron or Rise of the Beasts supreme class Unicron (Armada repaint/retool).
Cybertron's Deluxe Unicron was a fun toy.

I'd really really like Hasbro to do Deluxe-ish sized Titan-types. A lot of the bigger figures don't need to be that big for their transformation or whatever, and could easily be simplified and shrunken down.

Remember when "micro-play" was a thing? Good times.
