Sadly, yes. I have actually acquired an NES since that time, and even have played through Zelda, but I definitely was an outside observer to the original Nintendo craze of the late 80's, early 90's. I only adopted the NES, while you were born in it. Molded by it.

My father bought a sega master system so he could be up with mom at night when she dealt with me and mine as babies.

Which really is a damning condemnation of the era.

So did my wife. We still have her old Intellivision and have played it on occasion.
