I really like it as the Shangri-La class it was initially designed as for the 23rd century aesthetic. Oddly enough, the update to the Wasp(?) class to make the Intrepid seemed to come off more successfully to me. I treat that as a scripting flub and that he should have said "stardrive section"...

When the preorders for the wave went out last week(?), it was noticed in Canada that none of the major retailers were soliciting the deluxes. A couple of folks did some digging and found out that Hasbro Canada wasn't soliciting it to retailers (Amazon Canada, Gamestop, Walmart Canada, etc). But...

Agreed. I do want some "strange new worlds" in my Strange New Worlds. (I was also kinda bummed last year when there was little "new" in The Orville: New Horizons beyond those creepy spider people in the one episode). The modern technology could really make some neat things come to life!

No, no, I'm not questioning that. I thought that the Prime and Kelvin timelines diverged at the point where the Narada shows up and wrecks the USS Kelvin, and in the Prime timeline, the ship carried on as normal and Kirk would have just been born onboard without anything remarkable happening...

Well, depending on how you look at the inflection point between the Prime timeline and the Kelvin timeline, Kirk was likely born on a ship in space. (Or is it generally assumed that the Narada affected the timeline in both directions from where it came in?)

I do agree that the trailer did feel a bit lackluster. It really feels like a bunch of stuff happening. The music choice really didn't help matters either. It would have been fine as a pure instrumental piece. I'm kinda worried that the Number One storyline from the S1 finale will be dealt with...

Yeah, 'tis getting tough out there. I'm currently looking at paying $50 each for Beachcomber and Axlegrease as major retailers in Canada aren't getting that wave, and I'm wondering if it's really worth it...

Honestly, given what I've seen so far, I don't have high hopes from a storytelling point of view. It will likely be stuffed to the gills with fanservice, and that will probably be sufficient for everyone, possibly even me.

Pretty much all of yesterday's reveals didn't do a whole lot for me. But...I'm actually kinda ok with that at this stage of my collecting. I love seeing how excited folks are for Armada Megs and Prime. It makes me happy that fans of other eras are finally getting the love that a G1 guy like me...
