The next Crossover figure is Siege Impactor with a retooled head/chest/hands and a new weapon/electric coil thing as Universal Monsters Frankentron.
(Frankentron's monster, surely? - ed)
I'm not sure the store that sent it is supposed to have put it up yet so won't drop them in it too much but...
Interesting that it's even on the table though.
I wish they'd do a Grand Max reissue, as I very much regret missing him when stores couldn't give him away. Not sure it's very likely though. I'm still very surprised there's not being a Metroplex reissue but I wonder if there are tooling...
There's going to be. I think he even said there would be a volume 5 that would more be a standalone "stuff that didn't really fit anywhere else" at some point.
I'm really interested in this book. It'll be especially interesting because this scene really was the genesis of some more mainstream...
Yeah, Frenzy has already been and sold out in the UK. I missed it and have to hope there's a restock but I know plenty of people who have him sat on their shelves.
I think we might see a redone Titan G1 Metroplex before we see Grandus.
There have been some whisperings that Tidal Wave might be a Commander rather than a Titan so he can combine with Megatron.
Leader Octane.
I guess we'll get more core cassettes.
I think we might finally get Omnibots, and...
Would we?
I mean you could literally just say the volcano errupted in a different way because of all the lava flows changes from gunfire/taking a shuttle, so subsequently the Autobots were able to defeat Megatron in short order after waking up (heck, maybe the Ark never even revived Megatron)...
A bit, but the main issue is that the budget skyrocketed due to Covid and it was simply so expensive to make in the end that it needed to be a monster hit to even break even, which it wasn't.
I'd definitely be more interested in the toy deco - generally speaking I prefer the cartoon one, but this is literally supposed to be the original toy with a bit of modernisation.
The biggest issue with Megatron for the Japanese market is probably more that putting joints in that mold is *hard*. There's only so much you can do with the hip clearance and it would look very awkward.
Prime already had knees tbf, it's hip articulation that was lacking.
This is kinda fun, will depend on how expensive it is, but I don't think there's really scope for a whole line of these. Prime works because he needs quite modest tweaking to modernise - by virtue of his transformation he was...
The cab doesn't do anything, it transforms into him. You can see the sides of it on the back shot. It's like the MP version.
(I am fine with this approach, it's a Studio Series toy. The white cab was never in the film.)
Shattered Glass Sideswipe is the cancelled repaint of Armada Sideswipe into G2 Drench.
Dammit.
That Galaxy Prime mold feels so cheap and bad but an official Nova is kinda tempting.
Kaskade and Javelin look nice, and they're really weird deep cuts. But the most weird thing is how Javelin is...
So, SDCC reveals -
Core Novakane (Freezer with a new hat)
Core ROTB Exo suit (I like it! Nice drone mode)
Core 86 Frenzy (Red) (Not a surprise but solid)
Deluxe ROTB Nightbird (ehhh, this looks worse than the mainline version to me but maybe better pictures will help)
Voyager Ratchet...
