Tangential to the main discussion, but while I love the Deluxe Beast updates, I would absolutely re-buy every Beast in Core-class scale (LOVED the RotB Beast weapons). Not to scale with G1 characters, but to display with my Gobots. I also once envisioned a reimagining of the Pretender concept...

I've got the first 3 United Cores (E-Megatron, Tazmania Kid, and Bouldercrash) from the nearest Target to me. So far, that's all the United I've found.

I guess what's ironic is that GI Joe, the original action figure, was created to get in on the action started by Barbie where you sold one doll (or figure), and then made bank selling the accessories and/or vehicles separately. It worked for 12" Joe, and it worked for the original ARAH 3-3/4"...

I like those colors on that mold, and it would rock as a redeco if he had a little Scorponok Battlemaster, but I think I would want a G1-ified Blackout run through the Animated filter first? Shorter legs, bulkier torso, I think I want a Blackout (and Lugnut, and Strika, if they were to happen)...

FWIW, this is the same reason I still prefer GIJoe figures at 3-3/4"-4" scale over the pretty-to-look-at-but-also-larger Classified figures, as vehicles and playsets for the larger scale become prohibitively expensive and harder to store for all but the smallest things...
