Yeah, I'm not sure I ever saw Snarl in the wild. Sludge is everywhere still (in fact, I picked up my spare Sludge-to-become-Paddles during one of Target's sales). I've taken to ordering most everything I buy as the stores in my area rarely have much.
It looks good/fun, and actually not a bad value for $250, but I have no attachment to RiD, so this is one I can skip.
My main takeaway is that I'm glad that potential future Haslab Transformers projects won't necessarily all be in the $600 Unicron price range, but may well be down where I can...
Got my Paddles Kit from Nonnef, so my Dinobot squad now has a new member:
Now we just need Swoop, doggone it!
(And G1 Scorn. And Skar. And maybe a Deluxe sized Slash. And any other new Dinobots they would want to make)

I noticed that once you asked about AI, too. Some of the lightning seems to be emanating from the birds, too, which may be a sign that it was done by a computer. Computers know that birds aren't real, so they can't resist leaving us clues like that.
I came to the same conclusion and pulled the trigger a while back while they still had some stock. It's sitting in my Pile of Loot along with some other stuff waiting for my Anomalocaris+Hot Dog=Brachiosaur to show up.
I'd expect something from the early days of G1, seeing as it's celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the brand. Nothing inherently wrong with picking something from later in the brand's history, so long as it's a fairly "universal to the brand" sort of thing, just odd that they would pick...
