another good channel is midwinter minis. its more 40k focused but the lessons are useful regardless what your painting.

yea also perfection is the enemy of done. sometime its best to just walk away from a mini then try and be super fancy with it. Those reaper kits have a how to guide in them to help you muddle through the first couple tries, and the reaper youtube has a bunch of teaching videos on it.
reaper miniatures sells a good start painting set but you need to shake the paints like they owe you money to mix them properly. vallejo is also a good brand but you can pay a little more for them...
i know i had a couple when they were out in the states when G Gundam was on toonami. youd think with all the times shining/burning gundam has showed up in build fighters wed get new kits.
