It's not just you. English is a language that's always actively seeking out new additions and changes. I've heard it likened to it dragging other languages into dark alleys and robbing them of their more interesting bits.

I think that if Sony wants to develop the Spider-Man stuff they have, they need to do so with more input from Marvel. Piggybacking off their success isn't enough - they need to do what Marvel's been doing and tell good, consistent stories, which they've had some trouble with here and there...

Well, I think I'm getting most of this second wave. Heck, seeing more of Menasor's convinced me snap up Drag Strip. SG Ultra Magnus is going to get that alternate head though, maybe even a Reprolabel. Gonna be a long wait for all these guys.
