It’s hard to describe but the prior movies were just plain unremarkably bad instead of memetically, memorably bad like Morbius. one’s getting a D on a test and the other is handing in a paper with a passing grade but the answers are written in feces and you misspell your name.

was looking through the local equivalent of Ubereats and they had a place that had 31% off. That’s oddly specific.

RotB is going to be the Morbius of the franchise isn’t it?

Even without accuracy into account, mold looks pretty bad. car mode is half of a pair of dress shoes, stick arms, barrel chest, no abdomen. Bleh. It’s partly due to being based off RID Sideburn who had funky proportions too but given how simple this looks, IDK why the proportions couldn’t be...

Oh wow. I saw both in stores but wasn’t really paying attention so I assumed they were just packaging variants.

I think they’re spreading themselves way too thin and reusing the same few terms to describe different things craps all over marketing. TRU or whatever don’t care that there’s a mainline, flipchanger, core, Supreme or whatver Optimus Primal. All they care about is that the TF shelf has...

I'd think that the barrier to doing AMTC is the headaches paint budget and parts layout would cause compared to the potential returns. He has a ridiculous number of colors that probably don't translate well to the way toys are manufactured currently.

The shoulder armor also looks like it'll restrict articulation. You're already shedding parts between modes regardless, just partsform the damn things instead of that stack of hinges. The gold doesn't match the base figure but I'll be generous and assume that'll get fixed for the final product.

I think the beast designs are pretty cool but the colors are terrible. I know movieverse tends towards blocks of a single color but damn. They're also really samey with their Kingdom toys, which isn't helping.

Morbius 2 should be titled Morebius

TBH between the toyline becoming g1/BW/whatever with knees, rising prices, increasingly mediocre fiction and my job being what it is, my interest in TF has tanked.

Looks like it's just that long, rectangular clip in robot mode as an attachment, which is concerning long term considering how beefy Overload is.

The colors appear to match up with the mockup that eventually surfaced. I agree that I'd have enjoyed the boxart colors more though.

I guess Spidey and Metal Gear have my attention. Metal Gear I'd wait on reviews on since no way am I trusting Konami. Spider-Man's going to be hard to mess up but not something I'd rush out and buy a PS5 for right now. Unless they reveal evil Peter Parker gameplay featuring Drive That Funky Soul.

Since I’m not paying multipack prices for earth mode Mirage, this looks like a decent enough way to get the mold.

They could all be canon but nothing makes me lose interest faster than time travel nonsense. T2 was a good enough jumping off point. Also octogenarian action movie stars. TBH, putting them through the usual Hollywood filming process sounds like elder abuse.

Mortal Kombat refers to the Arnold version as a cyborg several times but i dunno if that’s canon to the franchise proper. I never watched anything past Terminator 2.

I dunno, wearing a suit seems to be enough to classify the Terminator as a cyborg.

This is exactly what the government wants you to think so that you don't expect the cyborg gorilla spies until it's too late.
