I'm not a big Hot Wheels guy, so I'm not the best person to answer, but I'm familiar with a few that would probably be considered the most Hot Wheels of Hot Wheels:
Deora, Twin Mill, Red Baron. I'm sure there are others that are the "Optimus/Megatron/Bumblebee/Starscream/Soundwave/Grimlock"...
I don't think they were using it as a "because we found it on Facebook, we don't HAVE to credit anyone!" so much as a "Here's a cool thing we saw on Facebook. Don't know where it came from, but thought you might like to see it."
And once they did know where it came from, they did everything...
Ah, ok. Picking the bat as the animal to make perch-able on the pirate's shoulders is an interesting choice. Not a bad thing, just you don't normally associate bats with pirates.
Yeah, they're limited as to iconic characters that are also possible to do. Megatron probably isn't going to happen. The seekers are likely impossible due to the amount of partsforming that they do. Soundwave and Grimlock are definitely candidates, though.
Terrible private investigators, too. Couldn't find Obi Wan Kenobi after he changed his first name and started living next door to his old apprentice's family.
I got Bumblebee. I don't plan on going crazy on this line, as much fun as it is, but I wanted to get at least one and BB seemed like a good entry point. Would have been happier at around $30, but that extra $10 won't break me.
Episode 1 is bad, but not as bad as it's often portrayed as. If it originally came out at a time like now when there are 15 different Star Wars things all going on at once, it would be considered a mediocre if forgettable movie.
But because it was the first "real" new Star Wars media released...
Ah! That's the first thing I've heard that seems likely. Probably a Rodimus retool, I would guess, unless it would be a reuse of one of the upcoming 13 Primes figures.
But both Xaaron and Scrounge have yellow arms, not orange.
I'm guessing it's another Leader class mold. Trying to think of any recent leader classes that could possibly have this sort of deco and had notable appearances in the comics.
There are a couple of "just a normal car, but it's a custom mold" Mattel Creations up on their site that are $70, so I guess it's not totally out of line. Still feels way too high for me, though.
