Yeah, Battletrap looks great. He's got the vibe of the HFTD stuff which really fitted into a G1 collection just as well for the most part than a movie one, and he's a nice original design. I'd maybe replace the feet but those are only mushroom pegged on so there might well be a 3d printed...
NGL, I am waiting until the last minute ish just in case this happens.
Not so much due to price, just that I am very disinclined to give Amazon any money for comics after the CMX disaster.
I think launching this during an economic crisis and just before Christmas is a mistake tbh. Especially when Hasbro have shipped a lot of product early recently because their street dates mean nothing.
I feel like this would have easily hit a thousand extra units in February.
Or who knows...
Yeah, that's quite nice, and the transformation is neat. Bit of a shame that the robot head is so obvious in bird mode but otherwise very nice.
Edit: that transformation would work really well for a non-awful Beast Machines Silverbolt toy.
That looks like a paint spillage so a q-tip with a very gentle application of rubbing alcohol might he able to remove it without taking off the pink underneath?
Supposedly the tooling for this toy included a few boxes that were supposed to be little Amazon parcels. I'm amazed they didn't paint them as gift boxes and include them tbh.
Having a headmaster would have been nice, but honestly if there was budget available I'd rather it have been spent on making the alt mode less risible.
Aren't the resculpted fists the ones from the Takara reissue?
Hot Rod being magenta is kind of neat, but I generally hate the trend of making things "animated" by turning them jive grey instead of silver. Like that is how you draw chrome, it is not supposed to be pale grey.
They don't need to create an entirely new mold, just the white sprue and the clear sprue. And they have done this in the line, multiple times.
But yes, they absolutely needed to do an entire new white sprue. It looks awful.
That looks terrible.
A third party will have to replace two thirds of the shell and the spoiler to make it work, which they are unlikely do to.
What a mess.
My point is that it's a test shot (as it has test shot markings on it), not a retail figure, that has been sent out to reviewers, which Aaron Archer claimed didn't happen.
I'm not trying to say that Hasbro are providing review copies to PVP - PVP declared that his Robosen trailer was from them...
