After my previous response, I looked up TFCon's website, not only are they indeed doing an LA convention next year, but they seem to planning something special for the 40th anniversary.
Assuming there's a TFCon in LA again in 2024 (I seem to recall that already being confirmed, but I could be wrong), I'll most likely attend. It's unlikely I'll go to BotCon wherever it ends up. New Jersey (its 2023 venue) was a definite non-starter.
I happily signed on to Meta's anti-Twitter, Threads. It may be a matter of choosing one villain over the other, but frankly, I don't care at this point. I'll happily support the most likely candidate to take Twitter down.
What would be the significance of February? I might have pushed as early as April, based on some Transformers toy advertisements that appeared as early as April 1984, but I'm not aware of anything TF-related as early as February 1984.
I'm more than a little surprised to glean from this that the decision wasn't already made long ago. When Deathsaurus was funded, they were already talking about the 40th anniversary and what figures (including JG1) were thus unlikely.
Personally, I'm happy to keep him tied to the courtroom instead of physically on the campaign trail for as long as possible. Anything to keep him from getting elected.
I'm just eagerly awaiting contempt of court charges when something Trump says is ruled to have violated the court order not to discuss the case publicly, because you know he's not capable of keeping his mouth shut.

The way I read that, Lucy didn't actually stop Desi from anything. Desi simply didn't commit murder. He still went out, with the gun, while drunk, and had the confrontation.
