He is looking for in-game battling with NPC characters, the whole gym system and that jazz. He also wants only blind random wild encounters like he had on his old DS and 3DS. Looks like it’s going to be Brilliant Diamond.

Oh well, I never played that generation (or any after gen 1), so it will be nice to understand all the references in Arceus to it.

And also keep in mind, that if he wants to battle online, you'll need a Nintendo Online subscription. Because modern gaming is just like that.

We do have that. Purely for the NES, SNES and Gameboy libraries for me.

Edit: Damn, that makes me sound old. It’s almost like I just got reading glasses and turn 45 in a few days…

Getting Brilliant Diamond and Legends Arceus together might actually make for a interesting time. They both take place in the same region, so you'll get to see how things change over time. One takes place in the present and the other the past. You'll be able to spot different landmarks in different styles.

You don't have to worry too much about overlap, though. They're still two very different games, overall.

Brilliant Diamond was definitely the right call. The two kids and I are loving it. I think it was a good idea sticking to what they remembered from the 3DS in terms of gameplay style. Once we complete Brilliant Diamond, we will move on to Legends Arceus with all the gameplay changes.

What's that? It's almost Halloween? Well, I better leave out some treats!

...They've been putting out a lot of shorts, lately.

You can get a Shiny Pelipper with the code:
W1DEGUARDLA1C25

And don't forget that you can get a Shiny Meloetta in Pokemon Home if you register all of the Paldea dexes. Unfortunately, they all have to have their origin marked as Paldea in order to "count", so you can't just use old Pokemon from past gens. So, it's potentially more work than it appears. Still though, Shiny Mythical! And breeding up Pokemon works as well as catching new ones.

Oh, nice! I've kinda been out of Pokemon (more or less) for a while now. But I've always wanted a shiny Pelliper

More giveaways! This time a bunch of items, including a big chunk of evolution stones.
ELEMENTST0NES - Gives Fire Stone, Thunder Stone, Water Stone, Leaf Stone & Ice Stone
C0SM1CST0NES- Gives a Sun Stone, Moon Stone, Shiny Stone, Dusk Stone & Dawn Stone
V1TAM1NS - Gives two HP Up, Protein, Iron, Carbos, Calcium and Zinc

Also...The Shiny Rayquaza Tera Raid event is coming!

So, prepare yourself! It's going to be a hard match! (But, it's only 5-Stars, so not as hard as it could have been, thankfully). It'll run from December 19 to January 5!

Plus, if you been keeping up with the new Horizons anime, you know this isn't the only Shiny Legendary that shows up there. So, there's probably going to be at least one more big Raid Event before Scarlet and Violet are over.
Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if Shiny Zygarde gets a raid event, too. Probably next year when Horizons deals with the boss of the villain team.

...Ugh. Shiny 100% Zygarde would be SUCH a pain in a Raid.
