That plastic isn't paintable (by Hasbro) but I have very (very) little sympathy that Hasbro couldn't have had a hole in that section of wing with a piece of red plastic there instead on a one off toy that cost nearly $200.

Parts count restrictions and bad sprue layouts are not really acceptable on Haslab toys.

Those bloody hollow cannons really annoy me in person too.

Hmm. Well, maybe Reprolabels will come to the rescue?

...I put a light coat on the balls, then let it sit overnight to fully harden...

Anyone got comparisons of Victory Saber's micromasters vs the original Siege versions? I'm curious how easy it'd be to get those two mixed up.

Fire (left) seems like he'd be pretty easily confusable for Red Heat (right), but he's actually pretty different:
- Deeper shade of red (it's actually even more noticeable in person)
- Much paler shade of blue paint
- Painted fists
- Silver face vs. Red Heat's white
- Windshield is painted like Topshot/Fireline's (only the flat part inside the border) rather than Red Heat's (border is also painted to make the windshield look bigger)
- Cab side windows are unpainted
- Roof lights are unpainted
- I didn't notice this until literally while I was typing up this comment, but I think his thighs are swapped? Either that or they're slightly retooled for no apparent reason. I'll have to check when I get home.

Holi on the other hand is immediately obviously distinct from Stakeout, being made almost entirely from white plastic as opposed to Stakeout's black and white combo. He's closer to Road-Police (and might be the same plastic colors--they look different here but I think my Road-Police might be very slightly yellowed), but I think literally every part of him has a visible difference:
- Lighter shade of blue paint (not as wildly different as Fire vs. Red Heat and not as light as Stakeout)
- Painted chest vents
- Four bright blue windows vs. Road-Police's weird mix of black and silver-blue
- Blue pelvis vs. Road-Police's orange
- Silver face and blue visor vs. Road-Police's both orange
- Black doors vs. Road-Police's completely unpainted white arms
- Top of the car front end section is painted entirely black except for the very front which is left white, vs. Road Police having only the very front painted black
- No "POLICE" tampo on knees/trunk
- Slightly different lightbar deco (a section that's considered part of the lights on Stakeout and Road-Police is instead treated as part of the middle section on Holi and left unpainted)

Finally got my set yesterday. Loving the whole thing, Have yet to do any of the animal or vehicular modes with Leo yet. But learning transformations shouldn't be too hard. All of Sabers were pretty intuitive And he's just a tad taller than God Ginrai side by side..... though a bit continuity breaking there.

Likely in the future they'll revisit God Ginrai, there is plenty of room for improvement over the TR figures, such as making God Bomber a full on weaponizer tyoe bot, a better surport for his cannon

Yay. My Victory Saber came today...

... to my parents house 45 minutes away. Boo.

Probably won't have a chance to grab the box till Tuesday.

-ZacWilliam, ah well, I can be patient.

It seems Hasblo UK have been up to their usual tricks again, by releasing faulty Star Sabers and refusing to replace the parts or the whole product. Instead, they fobbed-off a customer that they "might" replace the missing saber/sword "if they found a spare one" and then proceeded to ignore the customer's subsequent emails until they stated they would either give them a refund (upon return of the product) and/or "10% off their next purchase of a Hasbro UK product".

I'm so glad I don't have to deal with those t*ssp*ts anymore.

The video below details this issue, but the amount of f-bombs makes this NSFW or children. As such, it's hidden behind a spoiler as due diligence.

a 3D Printed gap filler exists on Ebay

Alteratively TFsafari has the same set:

I hate the fact that something like this even has to exist for a premium product. Mark the price up by a few bucks, maybe 20 even, to eliminate the hollowness.

While I am a bit bummed by the hollow parts, Hasbro said from the start it was designed to fit in with the modern Legacy line (which includes hollow parts), so they've always been honest about it at least.

The hollowness sucks on a set like this, but also makes it less intimidating in a way. This is a toy for people willing and able to spend the money for it. Handle it with care, but it is clearly meant to be handled, not hidden behind glass and never touched ever again.

The hollow bits are also notable in this instance because of the "premium" nature of this toy set in particular. Unicron actually included gap fillers. Would it really cost much to have included fillers for a few of these gaps?
Unicron actually came with screw covers, not gap fillers.

Not really since they don't do anything to fill the many gaps in Unicron's wings, or inside the planet mode teeth, or hands...

They fill "gaps" or holes, so they fulfill a similar purpose.

Most gap-filler kits don't fill in every gap or screwhole either.

I would never use screw covers. I want to be able to fix things.

I usually just paint over them with a similar paint to the surrounding area (if I really want to hide them).

Got to open mine and fiddle with it for about 20 minutes.

His right antenna (from my perspective looking at him) Was on backwards (the flat ledge at the bottom of one side should be on the outside to stop it from flopping down.) Easy to finesse it off and put it on the other way. Yay. Perfect.

WOW the Brain of Courage is TIIIIIINNNNY.

Otherwise I've taken out saber and put him back in. Fun.

I have not transformed either yet but am looking forward to it. No flaws other than the fixed antenna yet.

-ZacWilliam, I even transformed the micromasters and had no issues with legs poping off.

I envy those who have had a chance to fiddle about with their Victory Saber toys. Stupid job...stupid real life demands...I wish I could catch a break already...

Tell it brother, tell it. I was able to open the shipping box and take a quick second to marvel at VS (and to ensure that nothing glaringly obvious was wrong). Can't wait until life, the universe and everything slows down enough for me to really enjoy opening him!
