I didn’t see any deep spoilers but to sum it up, the series is pretty mediocre with the Mega Man segment being one of the few bright spots.

I’ll still check it out, but now it just seems like a teaser for a mega man show that will never be.

Man I forgot how much of an annoyance it is to fight General as Zero in X4. Yet Sigma is so much easier.

Well that's it. I've got all four of the first X games beat, and all Trophies you can get. Only ones I'm missing are attached to the X Challenges.

Also just to be clear to everyone. I've beaten these games before, it's just been a while. Heck I got the parts needed to take the Shadow Armor into the final Gate battle. Though I beat him with both.

Good question! I don't remember.

According to a post on GameFAQs:

It only affects trophies that tell you outright. Most of them are just beating X1 to X8 without Rookie Hunter mode. There's one in the second collection, called "You're Quick, Man" which you have to do Zero Stage 1 without Dark Hold in MMX5. But that's about it.

Edit. Completely forgot about in game cheats. There's one trophy for beating X4 without using the Ultimate Armor.

In X6 there's trophies for defeating a single enemy with the Ultimate Armor and Black Zero.

Im X8, the codes that will put stuff in the R&D, as well as Black Zero, White Axl, Ultimate Armor, etc. will not affect anything. In fact there are trophies tied to most of them.

Yeah, that Mega Man episode left me with mega-blue balls with it being so short.

(Also, bad on them for not crediting the Japanese music staff for the Mega Man music. Almost as bad as Grant Kirkhope's snub in the Super Mario Movie for his DKC work).

Watched the Secret Level MegaMan Short. Pretty much just echo: Yeah I wish this was a series. It was pretty dang good.


Also started on X5. I've beaten 3 Mavericks. Now I'm trying to figure out how to tackle getting the trophy for the laser canon destorying the colony. I've literally NEVER seen it do that.

Honestly it kinda sounds like my best bet is to just load up the game and fire the canon over and over till I get that stupid RNG.

I've HEARD that if you load up the game, and mess around in a stage it changes the RNG for the canon, but I don't know if that means I can go into a stage and escape (I think you can still do that in X5) Or if I have to beat a stage to trigger it.

Also man do I hate the beginning of Volt Krakken's stage. Can't believe I never thought to turn on rapid fire before when attempting it. Or I have and it's just been too long I forgot. I know I did it at least once normally, while getting the things for the capsule.

It's just a really big pain.

Also since I don't think any Trophies are blocked if you get the ultimate armor. I'm probably just going to do that.

I think it’s mostly due to RNG. Your progress doesn’t affect your chances as much as the game makes you think it does. I think I’ve heard the same thing as you, where you technically don’t need to defeat any mavericks just keep exiting and resetting until you get it.

Literally, the first time I played it on January 31, 2001, after playing the game and saving to come back to it later, I first decided to see what happens if I just fire the thing right out of the gate.

Destroyed the colony the first time.

I was literally convinced you couldn't fail because of that, until I found out later.

Am pretty annoyed at all the army type related episodes buuuut Unreal Tournament was basically Megatron in the Arena so I'll forgive them.
