Interesting old transforming toyline that I just discovered

I follow a Facebook group that showcases obscure old robots from the 70's through the 90's. Recently, someone posted in search of information on a toy that they had had as a child. Some various people chimed in, and long story short, they were a from a Spanish toyline called Autotech by a company called Famosa. The toys consist of groups of either 3 or 5 vehicles that partially transform and combine into robots. Here are a couple of examples from The Last Gherkin's Tumblr page:

And here's a box back from an e-bay auction showing the entirety of the line:

To me, it almost looks like what I would expect if Power Core Combiners had been Gobots instead of Transformers. Robot modes are very non-human and kind of "iffy," but the vehicles are well done, real life vehicles with some unexpected and interesting choices.

I like the second one, 'Tracker' it seems. It actually looks like a cohesive thing, with a sorta retro-robotic look. "Crusher" looks like a 3 car pile up and begging to be put out of its misery.

Yeah, they definitely seem to vary in how successful the combined robot modes are. I wish I had access to better images of the rest of them. Surely SOMEONE out there has to have good pictures.

For real, though, these are kinda neat.

These look cool! Any idea what scale they were? Also, I'm really curious what the Van and Chopper were supposed to do.

They seem to be roughly 1:64, Hot Wheels/Matchbox scale.

For the Chopper and Van, they unfolded into playsets. Found some old commercials from GiG (same Italian company that distributed Transformers back in the day)
