Takara-Tomy is releasing a "Transformers Multi-Shock" videogame. More info is here.

It looks like a twin-stick mobile shooter to me, where TC characters take on waves of Quintessons perhaps?

No release dates or platforms have been given yet.

Apparently, there's a new Transformers toy line called "Wild King" coming out.

cybertron_tf-20241028-204050-000.jpg

Official announcement and preorders may drop next week.

All items are April releases, expect for WKB-05 and 06, which are releasing in May.

They’re called Energy Masters and Energy Beasts.

Optimus and Megatron MSRP is ¥4,950, Slightly more expensive than Deluxe class.

The beasts are ¥2,750.

There will be an accompanying anime on YouTube, premiering in March, with a monthly new episode.

The lineup is:

Wildoking sets – ¥7,700 (a clever 3-way portmanteau of ‘wild’, ‘docking’, and ‘king’)

-WKS-01 Optimus Prime & Rightoll

-WKS-02 Megatron & Captain Vulca

Energy Masters – ¥4,750

-WKM-01 Energy Master Optimus Prime

-WKM-02 Energy Master Megatron

Energy Beasts – ¥2,750

-WKB-01 Energy Beast Rightol (Giraffe)

-WKB-02 Energy Beast Hydrophant (Elephant)

-WKB-03 Energy Beast Captain Vulca (T-Rex)

-WKB-04 Energy Beast Reefback (Triceratops)

-WKB-05 Energy Beast Ignite Bite (Wolf or Lion?)

-WKB-06 Energy Beast Sbilichuan(?) (Spinosaurus)

The Spinosaurus appears to be a remold of the T-Rex.

They remind me of slightly better versions of those beast armour things that were sold for ROTB.

Although I won't be getting either of these, even individually (They're still too expensive IMO), Godzilla could make for an interesting Megastorm/Gigastorm stand-in (if we slap a Predacon symbol on his chest instead).

SG Grimlock would be even closer since he's, y'know, actually colored like Trypticon, whose colors Gigastorm's are based on.

...have they ever shown is Megatron's dino-back yet?

Seriously, he better have the spines, or what are they even doing here?

I don't recall seeing any spines when I saw it at the Tokyo TF event. This isn't a remolded toy. The "new" head is rumoured to be originally designed for a possible Sludge toy that was going to be remolded from Grimlock (so the Sludge head was included in the Grimlock mold sprue/mold).

He does not have the spines.

-ZacWilliam, they probably would have been difficult to do given how the dino's upper body transformer but yess it is still a major miss.

One theory I heard was that crossovers and collabs are partially dependent on how much the other company is willing to pay. Godzilla's rights holder Toho may not have been willing to put that much money into this project which meant TT couldn't really do any remoulding and had to make do with what existing moulds they had.

If that's the case, they should have resurrected the Energon Cruellock mold again. Even if it's not the traditional Godzilla, at least it's designed to be *A* Godzilla.

Another reality is, Toho has a LOT of projects going on with other toy companies, including Bandai and Playmates, they may be limited in just how much they can support a deal beyond putting Godzilla's image on merch.

Besides, if you really need your Godzilla to transform, there's always...this...
