Where they fucked up was cutting the lines to ensure there wasn't any off sight redundancy.
The problem is that Chernobyl no longer has any significant output. The last reactor was shut down in 2000.
Which is why it's wrong in this case. It also made the cutting of the outside lines lethally serious. Unless russia plans to truck in diesel for the genny's (which they can't even do for their own trucks.) then there's a very serious problem here.

It’s far from hopeless but the biggest safeguard (the opposing party) being so uninterested in both calling out and responding to themselves being systematically neutered both legislatively and judicially makes it THAT MUCH HARDER for people to fight back collectively.
Do you think if “leftists” smeared their jive on the walls of the Capitol; a Republican President wouldn’t so much have *mentioned* it during their SOTU address? Half the Union wanting to destroy it doesn’t weaken said Union even slightly?
