"Don't listen to Mr. Destron Static... he's grumpy because he didn't get his scotch yet." ...."something about bad bar service?"

I usually find it better just to get it myself. Any unexplained missing stock gets charged to Foffy anyway.

Some of Swift Tart's comments to Night Cap here was my laying seeds for the possible sequel I mentioned previously.

it almost seems like as a precaution, were a game like this to happen again, that each player should quote the post above theirs so we always have a continuous chain.

I'll definitely need to back things up a different way, because emails don't include the content of posts anymore.

I'm not sure how well I could run, seeing as my attempt at Night Haze faltered. But if I were, I might use the Renegade stuff, since I'm using their TF stuff and am famialr with it. Not even sure if enough would be interested.

and here we are... maple's lowest point. I'm happy we got here, it was damned hard to write -I'll be honest. Rereading it just now... damn that's sad. I remember starting out this sidequest knowing it would be going in darker places, and up to this point I was content with writing Maple as just having the worst night... but I wasn't sure how much of it was going to be carried over back to the main game. Then we got to this part, and this conversation started... this changed me for the rest of the time writing this character, both here and back in the main game.

Thank you Shadewing.

Honestly I thought that maybe she was a bit much at that point, but I feel like her "I don't forgive you, I just don't have it in me tonight." Is meant to be freindly-ish.

at this point Maple's more her own worst enemy than anything/anyone else in the building - if Misty hadn't been there, or reacted as she did under the stress... Maple might have just let the sink fill up

lol and now she's doing the MMM thing... wow I forgot how deep in the trauma i was going here with her.... lol we're already at disassociation ..."if maple can't help and is actively doing the opposite of helping... boy oh boy it's a good thing she doesn't have to be here" ... lol I wonder if I was actively trying to cover this with the fastball special joke... or if the two thoughts just came independently. Wish I still had my notes handy XD

"You know, as the one who spent the better part of the night defending Harmony, this is too far no matter the reason. Maple could get killed if she doesn't get in there. If Maple gets hurt because of what she did..."

[I'll kill her!]

Now remember, at this point, I didn't know Static was the killer. Still...wow!

This puzzle of temporarily blocking Maple from the ballroom was slightly controversial, but when you're just rereading this as a story it's pretty great.

I like this part a whole lot, Maple's drifting away and almost completely given up on ever having her 'normal' life back - she's convinced everyone either secretly hates her, openly hates her or more then likely is just waiting to find some reason to justify hating her... because they should, she does...

but Misty is scared and you should do your best to help people when they're scared. she really does wish that they were still dancing.

Once more Swift's comments and actions were all meant to be hints of my plans for a sequel.

I had even had plans specfically for Maple in that sequel due this whole thing with her.

would she have gone with the sisters back home and see firsthoof what evils were done there? I did have notes about Maple having been there plenty of times in her backstory... but the context would certainly be different on a return trip now. Because a lot of how she felt about changelings is likely from hearing those stories.

The plot would have been helping Swift Tart deal with a cursed town, with them reaching out specifically to those that helped in the Whipstaff incident.

While there, Maple would have ran across another seemingly friendly and good changeling going by the name Charity, least are a placeholder name. Though she seems a bit too good to be true. Possible subplot would spin out from there.
