I remember.

When Misty Monsoon looked to the sky, she was able to marvel at the wonderfully clear sky she had crafted. There was a brief silence until suddenly several rocks the size of ponies rolled out from behind the trees. Rolling to a stop, they unfolded and someone from the crowd shouted, "Look out, they're cucarockas!" Pandemonium ensued. Mares yelped and stallions fainted as the buglike rock creatures ran rampant, tipping over tables and attempting to steal food from the caterers. "Things were going so well. At least it can't get worse than..." Mayor Cranberry Loss tried to run away only to trip and get tangled in the stage apron, causing it to become unhooked and start sailing into the air from the large number of balloons that were tied to it. "Halp! Haaaalllpp!!!" Brisk Iron facehoofed. "I'm old enough to know better than to say that."

I always pictured post-transporter maple rippling like the t1000 ...just with a magic colored ripple instead of mimetic polyalloy color lol

Maple is just a little chubs... she couldn't eat a whole static.... in her standard shape, lol.
On a related note, I think this was a good moment for maple going forward in the main game... she's okay with a little ribbing between friends.

One of my favorite running jokes with Maple was her almost pathological hate for Twilight Sparkle... the least best princess.

Meanwhile Static keeps forgetting that there's more than just the original two sisters.

Misty is quiet for a moment, then turns to Night Cap.

"Did he just say... that I'm the team lead?"

Well, to be fair, between Misty, Night Cap and Symphony...who would you choose?

Symphony, natch.

Caldwin said:
Well, if her sister were there, I'd probably choose her. Of course, she'd already be team lead of at least some of them anyway. But Symphony has only been with the team for two missions now, including this one. She is not her sister.

also Misty was there for him to talk to at the time ;)

Caldwin said:
Yeah...so, even easier question...between Misty or Night Cap...?

Destron D-69 said:
given the recent conversation if he'd have picked Night Cap, Night Cap would have questioned the choice anyway

It's a shame the line where he questioned orders is lost, because it got a lot of play.

I always loved getting into battles in this system. As much as I enjoyed playing Dee over in mayhem, she was a very simple fighter. Combat was often a game of a,b,c with flavor text to try and make the same 4 moves feel different. Maple the exact opposite at any point in a mission she could flip from white mage, to blue mage to dark knight... it was a blast. Lol I think I needed Dee to remain simple for contrast XD. Multiclass Maple... "Sorry i got knocked into you guys... have an hp boost hug"

What's funny is that this is the fight that most disappointed me in the system. But I guess a lot of that is I really needed it to be something map based for what I saw in my head. Granted, I pulled off nutty stuff like the Sergeant Wild fight over in Mey Hem so different fights required different things.

Selfishly, this is my favorite mission from the entire RP. Second favorite would probably be Warning Sound for similar reasons.

A lot of Statics arc is filled here. He may have been team lead before this. But in my eyes, this is where he actually grows into it. He's still apprehensive about it. He's still making mistakes. But like, before it was a learning expedition to see where the original STOMP team fought the Coal Caiman, then it was more information gathering than anything at Lousianeigh. Here its a for-real, deep-end-of-the-pool, sink or swim moment for him on a full expedition. So he really had to grow fast in that way.

But more than anything, Dazzling Midnight and Silent Belle, his two biggest nemesis ever since his introduction, finally gets resolved here. Like, his entire character arc since my very first post in IC has led to this moment.

So, yeah, selfishly, this is my favorite mission from the entire RP.
