Finally got to open this big boi up and while yeah - it's a bit annoying his legs don't clip together more firmly he is otherwise just a lot of fun to play with.

I finally opened mine up a couple of days ago only to find that one of the feet was misassembled (heel is pinned in upside down), so he can't stand or transform properly. Got a case started with Hasbro to hopefully get a replacement. If it was something held together with screws, I'd just fix it myself, but I don't want to take a chance on damaging something that expensive and "voiding the warranty" as it were.

I wish you luck. In my experience, I have found that their customer service will usually do the right thing and send a replacement (when available). My advice would be to not let them "settle", by sending you something else instead, if they don't have him (like Cyb Metropex or somesuch).

They will probably have the stock, but just ask for a full refund if they can't replace like with like.

Luckily there seems to be plenty of stock of the figure, so I'm feeling pretty good about getting a replacement. I've gotten a couple of lemons over the years, but this is the first one that was a big ticket item.

See, This is why I'm taken aback every time I hear someone say they want the next HasLab to be Primus. The sheer size and mass of the Unicron figure made it as expensive as it was, and it pretty much failed to fund in it's first go-round, needing an unprecedented extension because Hasbro couldn't afford to let it fail. Do people really want to pay that much money a second time for a figure just as large and massive that will take up just as much space as Unicron does?
"Just as large"?

"Just as much space"?

I think we're gonna need a bigger HasLab.

If you're ok with an Action Master Primus you could just have it as a shell that goes over your dog or pump house, and then put HasLab Unicron on top of it. Or if you wanted higher-end, a Cybertron shaped storage shed that you can then put your OTHER toys inside.

The only problem I see otherwise is that in Robot Mode it will have to ride in the bed of a pickup truck as it won't fit in the front seats, and some states won't let you legally do that anymore.
