Also posted with a little tech-spec blurb in the Personal Canon thread, The Safari Ltd. armored T-Rex and Triceratops, used exactly as they came, no mods of any kind, work shockingly well. If no 3rd party steps up with a shell set, I am using these as-is.
The Decepticons clearly spent some formative years on the Yajuta home planet.
I'm late for Halloween so I might as well roll the horror into being early for Christmas.
Those figures got me back into collecting Transformers back in 1996. Discovered the online fandom, read about the then-new Beast Wars, checked my local Toys R Us, but no Beasts (it was another 2 whole years before Beast Wars even hit the UK). However, they had the Cyberjets among the dusty rows of G2 leftovers, known as “Mini-Jets” in EU packaging. Bought them all and loved the poseability and snap-through missiles. Never looked back.
Funnily enough these figures were part of what got me into Transformers in the first place. I was only nine in '96, and while the Cyberjets weren't my first Transformers (those would be G2 Optimus and G2 Starscream) the Cyberjets were some of my favourites because they could actually strike a pose
I lost all of my originals when my mom gave away a lot of my childhood toys after I hit my teens, and I'm sad to say that while my love of Transformers remained I kinda stopped thinking about the Cyberjets.
Getting them again as an adult just unlocked something in my subconscious and I'm so happy to have them again.
There's some sort of theme here, but I can't quite place it...OH! I KNOW! "Toys that do not blend in with black furniture"!
