They really are playing fast and loose with the physics behind how leaping, holograms and the imaging chamber works.

Saw the new one with the earthquake and they did explain the imaging thing with Leaper X (haha).

I hope Ben's end goal isn't Back to the Future 2 I have to save my future kids thing. But the series is more about the human condition so I doubt it's going to be a big sci Fi thing that saves the world. Or involves aliens or something, haha

Okay, fully cuaght up on the series, but hug that Earthquake episode...

God Damn. I lost my mother about a decade ago; and well... the night she died we had a... disagreement. Not a fight or an argument like we see with Ben and his Mom. But I was annoyed with her for something that happened becuase she didn't listen to me the week before. I had gotten passed being mad about it, but was still a sore spot and I told her such and it would still be a bit before I would be completely over it. And the next morning I found her dead. So... yeah... hug... I totally emphasize with Ben in this episode becuase... that is just too ******* close to what happened to me. Becuase I still regret that being the last conversation I had with her.

Yeah, I'm not going to touch that. I would have liked it if the runaway acted better.

I can't wait for next week's horror episode tho. Original Quantum Leap's ghost episodes we're usually really good, though I can only remember two of them.

The murdered lady by the lake was more murder mystery, I think, but the one where Sam has a guy die via demonic goat was freaky as hex. The twist creeped me the hex out as a kid. Here's hoping the new Quantum Leap can do the same!

Saw the Halloween ep. Well, that was frightening. Pretty freaky so good job for them. Dunno where I stand on the existence of demons within the show but, well, if they're canon in OG QL, then they're canon here.

Yeah. One of the classic episodes pretty heavily implied that an entity posing as Al was, in fact, Satan himself.

Yeah the original series seemed to heavily lean towards the supernatural being real.

Ironically this episode just straight up said "Nah, that jive ain't real. It was drugs!"

Definitely didn't have the weight of Sam's Halloween adventure with Satan, which even had a ton of subtle context clues that made Sam figure out it wasn't really Al.

Satan, Vampires, Mummies, Bigfoot, Aliens, and Angels are just some of the stuff Sam encountered in the original series:

Thanks a ton for the link! Dang, I only saw three of the eleven listed. The Christmas ep, the gothic ghost story and the infamous Boogieman. Yeah, Sam vs Satan was crazy scary with the mind-blowing reveal (I totally didn't pick up on the clues) but I do remember that it was framed as a dream, whew.

The exorcist riff from Ben's adventure was actually amazing but he was left on the floor too much so I figured it out. Scary while it lasted tho.

I think with the whole background stuff happening in QL 2022, they won't be able to do one off, genre bending eps. Like, I didn't know OG QL had actual angels, aliens and big foot (hahaha). Would be nice if the production could have these fun eps but they're stuck with the Leaper X and endpoint mystery whatever so far.

That video reminds me of how superior the leaping effects were in 1989 compared to today. Not to mention at least Al had a door.

It will be cool to see his daughter use the old handlink.

I'm still irritated by the lack of clarity about the "mind leaping" though instead of body replacement.

OTOH, there was that out-of-nowhere self-aware "dream" of Addison in the glowy white room that may have been just a dream or may have been an angel lending a hand.

'If you do it right, no one will know you've done anything at all" and all that.

I saw the current ep. I only watched clips of the Stand By Me movie but I doubt this captured the original spirit. No leeches, no vomit story.

I thought it was a pretty good episode. They're getting better at making us give a jive about the guest characters.

The kid actors were better, for sure.

Oh, I remember that the leap was in... 1996. So no way could it capture the time of Stand By Me, hehe.

Also, found this while looking at my old saved pics.

There's new eps, finally!

The singer ep was great cuz it was a mystery. Plus is was very human with the crazed sister.

The hospital ep actually made me tear up before I could compose myself. Geez.

I guess I'm used to Ben now being very warm and caring. He's not posturing or trying to be cool. He's just very empathic. Which I guess is what Quantum Leap is about. It's not quite Must Watch tv but I really really enjoy it.

Just saw the nuclear power plant episode. Luuuuuvd it.

The whodunnit mystery was great, the stakes were amazing (I shouted during the first cliffhanger part), Ben's solution was a given but, dang, he remembered to bring those details up in the ending when it mattered the most.

Real cool.

Ep12 the basketball ep will probably be important to someone watching. But they just have to watch it.

Though I'm curious if kids are watching this or if adults are the ones learning from it. I know I watched classic Quantum Leap as a kid.

Oh wait, Ben would have been the kid instead of the parent. So this episode is for the adults.

Ep13 the restaurant ep is emotionally hard to watch. Ugh, mothers. And family.

Ep14 the war ep. I did NOT recognize Brandon Routh. Holy cow.

Not watching ep15 yet cuz it's Mandalorian time first, haha

Edit -

Saw Ep15 the courtroom ep. Liked this one a lot. Best ending so far, haha.

Ep13 was mothers, ep14 was father's, ep15 was brothers. Family is the formula.

I have a lot to say about the show but I've been too busy to be around much.

But I will say Jenn is a much better hologram companion than Addison. The foil to Ben's good nature is more akin to Sam and Al's chemistry.

Making Ben give that girl 50 dollars to win a horse race was hilarious and I'm surprised she didn't get scolded by Magic over it
