Because Blockbuster has become the go-to term for all dead video rental stores. If I were say that I miss Major Video or 5-Star Video, it would take a few seconds for most people to realize what the hell I'm talking about, but if I said Blockbuster, they'd know right away.
I never had a Blockbuster near where I live, when I was a kid there was a video rental store but its long gone and these days its a mobile phone shop for EE, we use to rent videos from there and that's how I got to see TFM86 and some G1 eps by renting VHS tapes, it was only years later that I got DVD copies of G1 to see all of the show including the ep I fondly remember as it was my first real exposure to TF and that was Fire in the Sky, its ending always struck me hard, I never cried, yet that ending, just stuck with me, even today, thou I didn't really know what the heck was going on as I came in part of the way through the ep the first time, yet the ending is what just stayed with me and then there was a copy of one of the UK comics I had, where Megatron kills Cyclonus and crushes his partner target master!
People like to jive on people who collect action figures sometimes but 1/6 scale collectors are literally buying very expensive dolls.
Well, yes. The original "action figures", the 12" GI Joes, were designed to be in-scale with Barbie dolls.
It’s a somewhat arbitrary distinction but if they have removable soft goods, I consider them dolls.
