Random Thoughts From Out of Nowhere

I just don’t get it. Mufasa’s only role in the story is to die as motivation for Simba. This is like making a movie about Batman’s parents or Uncle Ben. Nobody cares.

I think they wanted to explain Scar's motivation for what he did in the original, despite the fact that it was already explained, he was waiting for his brother to die so that he could become King, but then his brother had a kid and he was bumped to second in line to the throne!

Is there a lore reason Jonkler is dead? Was he stupid?

Or is this after the events of Jonkler 2: Falling a doodoo?

My first exposure to Warhammer 40K was some time in the late '90s when a friend tried to coordinate a game of Gorkamorka that was really just an excuse to kitbash a bunch of half-built models we had kicking around. I've never gotten very deep into into it, but I've had a passing familiarity with the game and its setting ever since.

It only just now clicked for me while watching a fan-made animation that the Orks' battlecry of "Waaagh!" is just the greenskins yelling "war!"

Theory 1: They're originally monster names, early humans adopted them as their own. Before beds and closets, they would hide on cave ceilings.

Theory 2: They're not normal, our ears can't comprehend the true pronounciation and approximates the closest name.

My earbuds are failing. Left is completely dead and right barely there.

I haven't bought new sound devices since the Windows XP days. What do you guys recommend?

I got a pair of JBL Tune 660NCs that I got about a year ago because I was sick and ******* tired of shitty cheap ******* earbuds inevitably breaking.

Those look decent. I would prefer wired, if that's still an option. I'm not often far enough away from my computer for wireless to really matter.

All the listings and packaging for the headphones I use will advertise that they're wireless headphones but see, here's the thing (and why I bought these specific headphones):
They come with a detachable 2.5 mm to 3.5 mm cable, they're both wireless and wired

That's what I like to hear. I don't need things to be exclusively wired, but I want the option.

How's the sound quality? I need music to sound good. It's my main joy in life.

They're pretty good considering the price. I think the MSRP is like $100 but I paid like $50.

I mean mind you I was going from like sub-$15 earbuds you buy at a supermarket to these so I'm probably not the best judge here but I don't think they sound cheap (to my ears).

I'm obviously not the best judge either. All my speakers are so old that they don't work with my current computer. I've been using cheap earbuds I pulled from my mystery pile of electronics. They probably came with a phone.

If I ever get my inheritance I'll put these on the list.

I bought some earbuds branded Ear Fun with the umlaut on top of the u. They’re alright. Paid like $20 with an original price of around $35.

Sound quality’s pretty good. Huge upgrade from the random chinese brand ones i used to have prior to them.

Nevermind. I found another paid of earbuds in my junk pile, and at first the left side seemed to be dead. Just like the ones I was using before. I don't believe in coincidences, so I started digging.

It was Windows. It was throttling the left channel somehow, and the fancy Settings menu volume mixer couldn't detect or fix this. Fortunately there's another deeply buried volume mixer that looks like a piece of Windows 2000 that they never bothered removing, and that worked.

What the hell, Microsoft? I put up with you so I don't have to figure out why plug-and-play hardware isn't working.
