Somehow we went from the Ugly Sonic trailer to this moment.
Its because they listened and didn't double down, I believe Sega weren't pleased with the ulgy desgin either and with the backlash from pretty much the whole internet, they delayed the film and fixed the desgin, then they were rewarded, of course Paramount having some money troubles, getting a hit with Sonic has helped them a bit, who knows where they would be if Sonic hadn't been a major hit for them, so as long as they respect the characters and the source, they'll contuine to get surport from the fans, unlike other IPs, where they simply refuse to listen to feedback and double down on stupid!!

While I never expected the Biolizard to make it into the movie, seeing that Gerald is truly alive actually simplifies a lot of the plot. No need for the Biolizard to be revealed last minute, Team Dark works without Rogue, he can give his own speech to the world instead of a 50 year old 4K recording, and it presents interesting options for how Shadow might be convinced to turn to good.

Presumably that simplifies the plot, or at least some of it, but I don't know. This still looks dense.
I'm kinda blown away. I expected SA2 to be difficult to work with, but they've kept more than I expected, yet made changes that are intriguing instead of seeming like they're just going to be shortcuts. This story already called for two hedgehogs. Having two Robotniks might be an attempt to make a theme out of it.

I'm suddenly excited for Silver to appear.
Man, too bad this Two Hedgehogs, Two Eggmen thing wasn't done in Sonic 2, because then everything would line up perfectly...
