Are you ready for Truth, Justice, and Chili Dogs?

Sonic the Hedgehog is teaming up with the Justice League in a new comic ( and MAYBE more?)

If Amazo doesn't show up in this, it'll be a HUGE missed opportunity. Or Metallo. There's a BUNCH of iconic DC robots who could show up in this.

I wouldn't bet on AI; the one thing it's gotten good at is producing grammatically correct English. It's the facts that it tends to pull out of its digital ass.

Might depend upon the AI program but then again, it could be whoever wrote the article, was just in a rush and under pressure by their bosses to get a quota of articles done by the end of the day

Huh. That's a unexpected Archie comics reference.

"Abe" is Abraham Tower, aka the future GUN Commander.

Now, the GUN Commander is from the games. But, I'm pretty sure he's only ever been called "Abraham" in the comics. So, I have a feeling Ian Flynn snuck this into the script.

I wonder if it's something that was always canon but not put in the games (like NIDS) or this is another 'Ivo Robotnik' where Sonic Team decided to canonize something from Western Sonic lore. Separate from the games, movie GUN Commander has Walters as a surname but his first name hasn't been revealed.

Also, I'm glad Rouge's VA got better voice direction than in Dream Team.

I think it wasn't exactly snuck in, per a recent BumbleKast.

This does provoke a question:

What does this mean for TailsTube's canon? The "interview" with Dr Eggman revealed that he destroyed GUN (thus why they were absent from Sonic Forces) yet they're clearly here. In universe, Eggman could have lied, got his info wrong, or technically been correct but they rebuilt. There's also the issue of when "today" is in the storyline. Out of universe, animation takes time to make and they possibly changed they're mind on how destroyed GUN is after the TailsTube was completed.

Eggman's army gets destroyed over and over again, yet he's always back.

I just assume that since this is new content to Generations, which is before Forces, that this is also takes place before then.
That was my impression as well. In the previous video, Rouge even tells Shadow to come to Sonic's birthday party, which happens in Generations, further suggesting this is set during that game.

I watched the Shadow Generations game cutscenes. It was pretty good. Ian Flynn wrote all this? If so, he's doing a great job!

Uh, since I'm not following all that's up in the game, what was that monster that Sonic is fighting that is referenced in the ending? Does that mean that Shadow Generations is a sort of side game happening within another Sonic game?

The Shadow and Maria stuff made me think I'd hear the "I am" line from the Ian Flynn Archie Shadow issue where he meets a holo memory of Maria saved in a disc or something.

Ah, thanks for the info. Sonic Generations is the one where classic Sonic meets modern Sonic, right? Wasn't that game years ago?

Also read the last Sonic comic. He was barely in it. Art is nice and it's good to see Charmy Bee getting some important work done but, ugh, just get the whole thing over with. The Clean Sweep arc is so stretched out already. The Metal Virus was too but that was more interesting and scary than Clutch. (Though, I dunno, I got scared when he actually fired a gun. It seemed more real, coming from a street ish enemy)

Didn't 100% it or anything but I beat Sonic x Shadow Generations. Thoroughly enjoyed it and it's interesting to see the structure.

On the Sonic side of things, the levels and gameplay are the same except for the introduction of the Drop Dash. What's interesting is that cutscenes and some dialogue are altered for a more cohesive storyline and to be more in line with current characterization. The one that felt most notable to me goes back to our recurring Amy discussion. She's less clingy (yet still attracted to Sonic) while Sonic regards her as a friend instead of a nuisance. And everything is still roughly timed to line up with the prior cutscene length.

On the Shadow side of things, there were a lot of clarifications on past lore (including incorporating some material that had only been in Japanese and/or guide books) and introduction of new lore. At the end, Shadow seems to be in a better state, similar to what Frontiers' writing did for Tails, Amy, and Knuckles. On gameplay, it really feels like Sonic Team learned from Frontiers since White Space is a better designed experience and more compact than any of the Starfall Islands. And no sign of the pop in problems of Frontiers. Maybe the actual map in Frontiers was better for finding things but SxSG is better at layout when you aren't using the map. On the note of Frontiers, I was impressed by the remix they did of Chaos Island's music to an upbeat techno track instead of melancholy.
