You're right. They did make that reference to the hallucination. But my contention is, they didn't have to, and I refuse to get up in arms every time they don't do something they didn't have to do in the first place.Which is fine. I don’t need him to be in every scene but even a sentence of Picard going “This was the summer Robert was away at boarding school” would’ve negated the entire issue.
Which they did to explain away a single hallucination so it’s super weird priorities they wouldn’t do the same for a sibling IMO.
It's really not. It's not relevant to THIS story at all. It's only something we know about because of the old series.A missing child/sibling from the story is a pretty big issue. Like his mom talks about how important Jean Luc is to her, but Robert is nowhere to be seen.
Like I said, its a plot hole that gets increasingly larger considering how tightly they are focusing on Picard's young family life.
But that is the thing though, we know he exists, and he should be there. At least they could have had some explanation of where the 9 year old boy is when not with his family. If he had been there, he could have affected what Jean luc was doing, and would have too. Remember he was the bully that had to take care of his little brother. It's really not. That’s it for the season. I largely enjoyed it. MUCH better than season 1 but that’s not saying much. A lot of stuff I feel wasn’t adequately explained. WHY was Q dying? What’s the deal with Jorgrati? Is she the full Borg collective now? Is she a Borg offset while the regular Borg still exist? As expected it was Ques Ex Machina back to the future. Rios staying behind wasn’t surprising but I’m glad they explained what happened since it was doubtful they’d all survive WWIII and the post-atomic horror otherwise. I think Rios would’ve enjoyed his death. A perfect send off. Kinda surprised they didn’t Easter egg the whole San Francisco thing when they got back. WESLEY!!! I loved that AND it explains why she has an android version as I assume she was put in charge of the Soong family. The Khan folder was pretty ******* stupid. Was it foreshadowing he’d work on genetics? He’s already been doing that the entire ******* season. How does he even *have* descendants since his daughter is off traveling. I was kinda hoping they’d do a credits stinger with some/all of the TNG crew but alas no. Overall I’d give the season a solid B-
