The orange kinda has to happen, because that was the original G1 toyline colour scheme layout before it was scuttled. So since the goal is "what we never had" they have to do that

Now that being said, if the rest of this line is any indication we'll probably get an animation accurate option as well.

It had to have been a prototype since there was no final toy made. But, the colors were evidently based on the leftmost character model seen below:

It's very possible that had the toy been made the colours would have shifted for the final production run.
Since the figure was cancelled shortly after the prototype stage, though, that pink and orange colouration became crystallized as the G1 Arcee we never got. Regardless of what may have happened, it's the colour scheme that's endured in the fandom for decades and the colour scheme they kind of have to go with for a release like this.

That would require a different head, and so far only the minibots have done that in this line.
