Or... musk is lying and actually thinks the name most people still use over his stupid choice is a threat.
Musk is a whiny rich brat who's convinced the world is unjustly against him. He lacks the self-reflection to realize that it's entirely his own fault.
The majority of his remaining userbase seem quite happy with his heel turn. Just as much as Trump, Musk is a cult of personality.
He really is Young Trump at this point. And probably has the same ideas about the Presidency(which is why I could see him actually thinking a President can and would be as petty as issuing a executive order to change a website name, ignoring any legality issues, because he would try to do exactly that)

Well, he's also being sued under a class action law suit from his canvassers for trump. And He's an idiot, and literally wasting his money doing it in the most ineffective way possible. If he wants to throw millions of dollars at an election they will not win, who am I to stop him.
Elon's defense was apparently that it was not a lottery because the winner was actually purposely chosen and not randomly selected.

If you charge someone with a crime, and it turns out he's guilty of a different crime, you have to start over. The good news is that this took barely any time at all to go through the courts, so assuming the prosecution isn't being purposely incompetent in order to fulfill the terms of a bribe or blackmail, we'll get another verdict pretty soon.

2014 Musk had entire departments at his companies who were there to keep him in check without him noticing. Post-Twitter Musk does not.
Musk, like Schwarzenegger, can't legally be President or VP, so this is the closest he'll be able to get(and frankly, it's probably the option he'd be happiest with because an actual cabinet position would involve oversight). He could try and play at being Kingmaker later, but he's too nacississtic to do it properly in the background like the Koch brother(s) has traditionally tried to do.
