Their main goal is cutting agencies that were investigating, opposing, or otherwise going against Musk's own businesses and/or personal desires. Everything else is just him flexing his power. He doesn't care about consequences.

Record used car sales do not mean that Teslas are popular. It means people are getting rid of their Teslas.
At this point I can't even imagine wanting to get one used, no matter how low the prices drop. Not because of the stigma—that's easily remedied by painting it yellow—but because it'd be impossible to maintain without continuing to give the company your money. Even if you were to hack it to stop locking you out of aftermarket repairs, I don't think there are a lot of replacement parts you could get from third parties.

Well hey, maybe they won't have to kick us out, then.

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.
Citizen
That's... actually a really good question. What does musk get from the US leaving nato and the un?

Okay, and? Only the US is going to be interested in removing the sanctions against russia, and their economy is still in the shitter. He can't acquire political power in russia, and he's losing face in the rest of the world. Everyone can see him being a doped up fascist.

What does he get from this? Like actually get from this, cause it looks like even if he pulls it off; he'll close more doors than he will open.

He wants to be a fascist dictator. That’s it: There’s no other motivation there, other than clinical levels of narcissism.

Someone probably told him it was a bad idea, and being the contrary little man child that he is, that was enough to make him do it.

Musk is an accelerationist. He thrives on disruption and shaking up the status quo. Courting Putin's approval isn't about loyalty, it’s about speeding up the collapse of the old world order. If the US pulls out of NATO and the UN, global stability takes a nosedive, and that kind of chaos creates new power vacuums. Governments get weaker, and private actors (like Musk) get stronger.

He's not trying to gain political power in Russia, he’s trying to break the system faster. A destabilized world means less regulation, fewer restrictions on AI and space tech, and more chances for him to play kingmaker. He’s not closing doors, he’s setting the whole house on fire so he can build something new in the ashes.

Yup, he wants to be a king in the new order following the playbook put forward by Yarvin.. He's scum just like anyone who follows that dark enlightenment drivel is.

Does he not realize that if you're going to burn the house down from the inside... You need a path out BEFORE you light the fire. All he's going to do is end up bumper fodder for whatever mad max hell we end up in.
