Thundercats - General Discussion (and some Silverhawks too, whynot)

I always love the way Super 7 packages their toys. This time it really helped protect the inside box if those nicks are anything to judge by.

That is a very sweet Thundercats logo. I'm saving this box.

Inside the box. It's been a while since I've watched the original series, so most of those accessories don't ring a bell. Is that Y thing on the left a flute? I seem to remember someone using a forked flute like that, but not Cheetara. Weird.

Outside the box with no replaced hands or head. Just straight out of the box. Very pretty.

They have running hands and a head with the hair blowing out behind. But I can't get her to keep looking up so that when she's posed she's looking straight ahead instead of down. So I can't really get a decent running pose out of her in spite of the fact that they included the head and hands for it.

I love that they included the head with the "call to action" eyes. I'll probably keep it with the regular head instead, but the call to action eyes is a great option.

And compared to my other Cheetara toys. I love finally having a normal sized 80's Cheetara. Don't get me wrong, I like giant Cheetara and Reboot Cheetara. But I've been wanting a normal sized 80's Cheetara for a while. Very nice.

Okay, can someone identify this Pumyra. I knew it wasn't an Ultimates toy just because it didn't have a bunch of hands that came with it. Also, it's not quite the same scale at Cheetara. Anyone know what company/series she's a part of?

Looks like the major difference is one less head and one less set of hands.

The Ultimates one is very similar. A bit smaller but mostly the same mold with some extras.

All the ThunderCats and their allies are complete. Still waiting on Captain Cracker's sword, but otherwise all the adversaries are complete too. AFAIC, I'm done with these guys, I don't really care about the vehicles except maybe the Thundertank, or the Stinger who was never in the show, or the monsters.
The SilverHawks and The Mob are all complete. And in fact, Quicksilver and Mon*Star are mine from when I was a kid.
I'm still missing 4 Hawks and 1 Mob member, but they're all stupid expensive!

I've never been into Silverhawks. How did they become so intertwined with Thundercats?

Same production company and lots of shared voice actors. Was pretty much created to be a space equivalent of Thundercats,

Probably not. But the 2011 Thundercats was leaning in that direction.

Yeah, the 2011 series has Mon*Star as one of Mumm-Ra's subordinates before Leo's rebellion (meaning that Mon*Star could easily have gone into business for himself during the thousands of years that Mumm-Ra was trapped on Third-Earth).

I always thought Mon*Star kind of had a Thundercat gone bad vibe to him anyway. They also tied TigerSharks into the Thundercats 2011 universe as well.

Thanks! If there are any, it's because they didn't make them. Like I said, I only really would like to get a Thundertank. The only remaining figures are the Stinger (who was never in the show), the Astral Moat Monster and Tongueasaurus who were both only in one episode each for about 5 seconds, so I don't care about them.

Here's my version of Lynx-o. I used a Panthro head and sculpted the beard and bandanna tie with hot glue. I went with a different look for the belt area. Making the yellow more like protective padding on both sides rather than a wrap around belt.
Ratar-o is something I threw together this week.

Here's a few more of Ratar-O. I used a Minimates Ratar-O and a Rancor keeper. The Rats Eyes are glow in the dark. Thinking of painting the blades G.I.T.D. blue as well.
I used the minimate's hands to hold the daggers on the back Ratar-O's belt.

That's awesome. Happy for people who collect in that scale. Glad to see the line continue. Wish we'd see something from S7 on the ReAction line.
