I'm just eagerly awaiting contempt of court charges when something Trump says is ruled to have violated the court order not to discuss the case publicly, because you know he's not capable of keeping his mouth shut.
Trial date has been tentatively set for Aug 14, but it doesn't sound like this is likely to be the actual date, from what Politico says:

Of course it won't be. Trump's entire plan is going to be delaying it as long as possible, with the intent of winning the presidential election and pardoning himself. Even if it does go to trial on time, it'll be dragged out forever; and if it manages to get resolved, he'll bury it in appeals.
To be fair, that's ALWAYS the Trump Legal Plan (TM), for every case he's ever involved in.

We shall see, there's a case to be made for him getting this over with before the caucuses and primaries start. If not it's going to be hard being in court when you're supposed to be in Iowa. Now appeals he'll drag out as long as possible.
Personally, I'm happy to keep him tied to the courtroom instead of physically on the campaign trail for as long as possible. Anything to keep him from getting elected.
I don't expect that to happen. Jack Smith knew Trump would do this and it's only helping his case.
