Regarding the episode runtime for this series being 5 minutes long, Q-Transformers was also a YouTube cartoon and it had two seasons (both released on Blu-Ray, even) of episodes that were only 3-and-a-half minutes long.

Further, posters from around the web more familiar with the comics have noted substantial design similarities with IDW character Riptide

In exacting detail. Very interesting.

Though, doesn't look like the toy has elbows, unfortunately.

Can't tell if those pins in the knees are for articulation or simply structural integrity.

I don't wanna be rude but I don't think comparing a random cheap cartoon Takara had made as a tie-in to like a random Transformers side toyline they did is at all comparable to what Hasbro is going to be marketing as the new kid-aimed Transformers line lol.

And yet, that "random cheap cartoon" was still 50 times more entertaining than the likes of the Prime Wars Trilogy and War For Cybertron Trilogy cartoons combined, both of which had a much higher budget than the barely-any-budget that Q-Transformers had.

It's the legs and feet that really cement it.

-ZacWilliam, surprised given how close it is in general they didn't get the back kibble in there.
If it does wind up being a future retool/pretool, maybe the back kibble is gang-molded with a Riptide head?

Yeah, this figure is just waiting to be digibashed into Riptide.

Given the amount of teeth gnashing over SM33 and Mando Gideon in the 4" Star Wars Epic line (the kids stuff) being made before Black Series or Vintage, I REALLY hope Hasbro pulls that with a Cyberworld Riptide

Highly doubt we'll be seeing the back kibble in any future release. That kibble seems to be the outboard pontoons. The added engineering to get them where they need to be in both modes would be beyond the scope of these very simple toys, I would think.

That's undeniably Riptide. IDK, maybe the retool will be the head and his weapon accessory will be shaped like the robot mode boat-kibble and plug into the back.
Hope we get a Generations version later on... AND an Elita retool of THAT!

This... doesn't really address Princess Viola's contention there. If the point was "cartoon shorts can be entertaining", well... okay? I don't even disagree, but that comparison still isn't a helpful one for knowing what to expect from this.

Yeah, Elita-1 is 100% a Riptide pre-tool.

Which means they either aren't going to make Riptide, or she'll be some kind of not-available-in-your-area exclusive.

Easy repaints: Not a fan of Off Road Optimus Prime…but with some deco changes, he might make a solid Ultra Magnus.

With even fewer changes he'd look a lot like Tackle.

Come to think of it, Mirage's colours look a lot like Mach.

Pity they can't combine.
