OMFGWTFBBQ! Cyberworld show CONFIRMED!!!! ( /s)

This just seems like a general mark to cover ANY media efforts Hasbro might make. Even BotBots got a few animated specials

No it got a season of a TV show.

-ZacWilliam, also yeah this gives them the potential for a TV show but could just be for an online mobile game or something. We'll see...

So the new Earthspark deluxes are on limited time sale on Amazon. Prowl, Jawbreaker, and Aftermath for 13.99 USD each. Not sure how long those will last.

On a related note, has the Warrior Hashtag been seen anywhere yet? ONE has pretty much taken over the TF section at my local Walmarts where Earthspark used to be, so I'm wondering what alternate venue I'll have to use to get Hashtag.

So, by their logic, this should be Season 5, then?

I still absolutely loathe how Netflix chose to label the seasons for their Voltron show. After that, I have a hard time attaching any weight at all to season numberings.

I hear that’s an intentional “loop hole” done by companies to reduce how much they pay per episode/season.

Anyway, new season starts next week, and a new trailer dropped:

Prowl, the Hate Plague, and Quintessons will be featured this season. Mirage and a new Battle Trailer for Optimus cropped up in the leaked presentation.

I forewent sleep last night to stay up and binge watch all eight episodes. This batch is a definite improvement over the last batch of eps.

While Paramount+ labels it as "Season 3", it definitely feels more like how season 1 was split up into three episode batches, with this being the Part 2 of the season 2 episodes, as it directly continues off from where the last of those episodes concluded, unlike how episode 1 of season 2 picked up long after the finale of season 1. The two part climax of this batch also feels like those of the first two season 1 episode batches, as there are still a few loose ends left open and it did not feel like a true series finale like how the season 1 finale could have been.

Without spoiling anything, watching the previous episode batch and this one back to back really shows how the Decepticons turning bad back in those episodes now feels like it was a red herring meant to throw us off from suspecting the true main antagonists who appear in these new episodes. In that sense, I no longer find the Decepticons going bad again as regressive in storytelling as it originally seemed to be.

Of these eight episodes, only one of them felt pretty lackluster to me, and all but one other one move the plot forward in a serialized direction, and I'll always be for serialized storytelling in Transformers cartoons.

All in all, I'd say this was a pretty good batch of episodes. The writing feels stronger again, more like the middle and latter thirds of season 1. Thankfully, the previous batch of episodes was not a sign of things to come, quality-wise, but were instead just setting things up for this batch in ways we didn't expect it to do.

Granted, there was one big plot twist in these eps that I could see coming a mile away, but the precise details of how the twist was done was something I did not see coming at all. So even though I knew that twist was coming, I was still surprised by how it was done.

Just finished this.

Man, they really saved up the animation budget for that two parter. Some of the animation in the early episodes of "Season 3" (It's Season 2 part 2, I don't know why they're doing it this way) was pretty awkward.

Plot-wise
This got better but still feels like a downgrade from last season, though I enjoyed the two parter a lot.

Weird Al's Cosmos wasn't a one shot character, sweet! Though he still just reads as "Weird Al" to me and not Cosmos, for some reason. I didn't have this issue with animated wreck-gar. Dunno why.

The Fairmeister continues to be a very inconsistent character. Like sometimes he's really magic, sometimes he's not, but if he's using tricks then how is he kidnapping people? Bleh, I'd take Professor Princess over this guy. Doesn't hold a candle to Mandroid, for sure.

Starscream got a major downgrade. They finally made him frightening last season and now he's just a silly joke.

Frenzy and Laserbeak continue to be a treat. Even Optimus is charmed by them.

.

I feel that Starscream, being trapped in the head of a dead titan, with only two other dead bodies for company has taken some toll on his sanity to the point he doesn't care as long as he can get out of there. Its just this time no one's willing to even entertain putting up with him.

No spoilers.

Seven episode season I burned through it fast yesterday. Not terrible, but not as good as S1 still either. Some good plots passably told, but also a couple places where the writing wasn't great, belabored an obvious point for too long or just abandoned making sense to move the story forward. Also a couple places where the animation was surprisingly bad.

The writing, animation and especially dynamic combat in S1 just stood above almost all of this. People were raving about some of the action there and there's nothing near that level in most of these eps even in scenes that should be cool and exciting. One in particular that echoes a scene from the 86 movie was dull as heck where it should have been fast paced and dynamic.

The Finalie would be the exception to the negatives I said above. The final episode of this does a really good job tying up the mini-arc and is exciting and cool.

Overall it was great to see the full cast of Autobots and cons in play and there are good ideas here, but a very uneven execution. Also the budget limitations are obvious in places and the new writing crew is still not on S1's level most of the time.

ZacWilliam, I'd give this batch a C+ average except for the final ep which gets an A

The first 18 episodes of EarthSpark are now on Netflix, and they're all normal length. Meaning the two-parters that Paramount+ has smooshed together as double-length episodes are the individual versions.

So I have been watching this show with my kids now for the past few months, and its actually pretty good. We are at the end of the first season I believe, and I have really enjoyed watching this with them. Honestly, its most I have enjoyed a TF cartoon since TF: Prime. This could honestly become my second favorite TF series of all time.

I was reminded recently that:
we haven't seen the two Sharkticons Blitzwave and Razor-Fin since the end of season 1.

Which then reminded me that the Quintessons had a tank full of Sharkticons at the end of "season 3", and those Sharkticons didn't look anything like Blitzwave and Razor-Fin's design.

So.... blame it on the change of production team?

I like to think that the Quints' Sharkticons are artificial lifeforms created by the Quints themselves, while Blitzwave and Razor-Fin are members of a more naturally born species of Sharkticon, and that the Quints took inspiration from that species to create their more robotic artificial Sharkticons.
