Transformers: EarthSpark

Uh oh, Steevy’s imagination juices got flowing and now I’ll bless you with a massive splurge of ideas!

Preamble: I’ve noticed that since Kingdom, while Hasbro still makes Armorizors, the Generations figures have largely moved away from wide support of them. Siege and into Earthrise, most figures had numerous ports to support wild combinations from the modular bots being produced. But in Kingdom? None of the beast characters had any real support for that play pattern. As we’ve transitioned into Legacy, while there are still a few here and there, it seems Hasbro has largely shifted away from that play pattern. At least in terms of broad line support.
One of the slides in the presentation noted that for 2025, a theme for the year is “The Power in Your Hands”. That not only jives with some of the messaging around Earthspark, but…also customization.

Hear me out: What if Cyberworld, as I stated, is semi-customizable, “small figure line”, utilizing some of the design work we’ve seen on the Armorizer concept?
Core Changers are 4-4.5” basic figures in the vein of the RotB Weaponizers and Spark Armor Battle Class central figures. Each figure has a LOT of ports to upgrade with either the single included accessory or be built with parts from other figure sets. Retail for about $13 with one or two accessories.
Armor Core Changers would be a basic figure with an upgrade item. So Galvatron is a 4.5” figure but comes with space cruiser that breaks down into components that attach to “Armor up” Galvatron or other figures. $20-ish?
Chomp and Battle Grimlock is a basic Grimlock figure with a massive T-Rex battle mech that convert to tank-thing with copious amounts of secondary blasters, melee weapons and shield/armor pieces to attach to other figures. $35-ish
Scorponok Strike Battle sounds like a multipack, so maybe large-ish Scorponok (6” basic figure) with parts to turn him into a battle station and maybe a couple of Autobots to fight him. $50-ish?
The Swapticons even fit into this, by potentially having parts for multiple characters it allows the consumer to customize their own Transformer, to a degree. $30 offerings?

Now watch it end up being some regurgitation of Constructbots or something lol
Oh, Did I manage to stumble onto a viable theory? :p

Since we don't have any firm info and all the discussion has been here, a new set of leaked images have come out featuring what very much looks like Megatron which transforms into a bull. Fortunately, there are prototypes of assorted Voyager figures in the same images, allowing us to guesstimate the approximate size of the figure. My best estimation is that he appears comparable to the Weaponizer/Combiner figures featured in Rise of the Beasts, giving a modicum of credence to my above theory.

I'm a big disappointed in the lack of any sort of elbow joint. If nothing else, I think it would have made the beast mode more compelling being able to AT LEAST rotate the front arms, if not add a double joint for some beast articulation. But I just dig the idea of some real creativity, and there are clear ports on the lower arms, indicating some sort of accessory or combination feature.

In digging through the TFW2005 forum thread, a number of posters have found additional products and info bits not previously revealed:
Nune found a listing for Ultimate CC Megatron with a converted price of about $26 (CC is likely short for "Cyber Changer"), while he and Chip have been digging through retail systems like Amazon and converting pricing information. Further, nune has found ASIN numbers for several figures, including Megabull, Snarl, Skybyte, and OP CLASSIC (seemingly replacing the Offroad version initially leaked).
Here's a rough overview of the info they seem to have found:
Cyber Changers (9.99)- Megabull, Snarl, Skybyte, Optimus Prime. Mirage is MIA and might be a second wave release.
Armored Cyber Changers ($14.99)- Galvatron. No other listings have shown up in this price range, but I'm guessing he'll be complimented by an Autobot figure
Ultimate Cyber Changer Megatron ($24.99?)- I expect an Optimus to compliment this release.
Chomp and Battle Grimlock ($29.99?)- Amazon Link
Scorponok Strike Battle ($99.99?)

I'm starting to lean towards Cyberworld being an "Evergreen" type kids line so Hasbro becomes less reliant on individual media initiatives. With One and Earthspark's lackluster performances, I can see Hasbro scaling the cartoon lines down and double down on Cyberworld as an ongoing concern. With links starting to go active on retailers, we should be finding out more in the next couple months. Probably a big reveal in March with Toy Fair.

Our first look at Cyberworld. Someone at the UK Toy Fair snapped an image of a wall display for the new product line. Character art seems based on the toys, not any existing art or design. Featured are Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, MegaBull, and Grimlock with a dino head arm (Dare I hope for a Beast Megatron retool?)

Displays are empty, probably going to be some sort of reveal before too much longer.

Shouldn't Cyberworld be given its own thread?

Well, yeah, but people kept fussing it was an Earthspark thing!
People kept insisting Cyberverse could be an Aligned thing until it definitively wasn't. Some people have trouble letting go 😛

There is more? I thought it wrapped up neatly.
No way. That most recent episode batch's final episode wasn't anything like a series finale. Not like how the first season's (third batch's) final episode felt. There are still loose ends left to wrap up, the biggest of which being Shockwave and the other Decepticons escaping back to Cybertron. If the Autobots don't go after them, they'll conquer Cybertron for sure, and we can't have that happen. ;)

New wave of Deluxe figures. Fascinatingly, Hashtag is actually the Takara version (the retooled Warrior) of Hashtag. I’m actually wondering (based on some leaked information on Earthspark deluxe figures) if Hasbro just isn’t scrapping the Warrior price point completely and just shifting everything into “deluxe”. Soundwave is a new mold, and transforms into a stealth bomber.

Soundwave intrigues me. I loved Cybertron Soundwave but found the toy lacking. This isn't that design, but another go at stealth bomber Soundwave is still appreciated.

This will be petty af and a total "me" problem, I know, but.... I'm gonna be less interested if he doesn't have a minion ejector function, and I don't think he does.

And neither of these will actually be sold in stores because brick-and-mortar stores have just given up on EarthSpark as the excess of 2022/2023 toys continue to clog the shelves going unsold.

If stores would actually learn to order stuff it would help massively.
Oh, they do order stuff. They order a whole year's worth of the first wave and then just give up on the rest of the line when the excess first wave items don't sell at all.

And then they wonder why more people aren't buying more of what they already bought.

This is Hasbro's biggest problem. Retailers just cannot be made to care about the wave system. It's too small a detail for them to manage, and the consequence of not caring just doesn't make enough difference.

Deluxe Soundwave and Hashtag:

EDIT: yeah, I notice two seconds after posting it that it was already in the thread.
