Slipstream - Finally, will have to see the toy though.
G1 toy colors Optimus Prime - I got to be honest, I briefly thought they were going to say it was an Action Master homage.
Metalhawk package refresh/toy colors repaint - Okay, despite the praise I never got Metalhawk so now I'll have two to choose from.

I usually don't like gimmicky paint but those comic shading dots don't bother me at all. They're pretty subtle.

The rumor is that Flame is apparently using the GE Megatron mold.

The 4th release is confirmed to be a 2 pack by Jtprime17 though. So maybe a Voyager and a Deluxe.

I didn't think a Voyager would be in the price bracket, but I guess I can squint and see that (though it's a flat out awful toy)

Here’s my view on it:
The last time we got a Straxus toy was FOURTEEN YEARS ago, and did so in conjunction in a side line released at the brand’s peak period of success. This toy is also an obscure character retooled from a soft seller in a higher level price point.

Given Hasbro‘s recent scale back on the line, I would NOT hold my breath in the hope Hasbro might do another release of Straxus, much less at mass retail.
We're getting a recoloured Metalhawk, and he's as obscure as you can get.

I don't know why people think there couldn't be a mainline Straxus figure, considering that:
-this one has comic book shading, which is a deco choice they seem to use intentionally to have as "premium" separate from mainline
-they practically belaboured the fact that Straxus has alternate colour schemes, in the stream. This was definitely an intentional hint.
-The figure has extensive retooling, which isn't something that usually stays limited subline exclusive for long
-this is an online, Pulse exclusive. Not even fanstream. It's practically begging for another release down the line
-they're already moving in a direction of rereleasing some figures with slight remolds and colour tweaks, and sometimes it's even telegraphed ahead of time through deco use.

I'm betting we'll get a release with a darker, more muted blue, and possibly slightly less red, down the road somewhere. We've had equally, or even more obscure characters released in the last few years.

It's highly likely that there will be a mainline Straxus release, the question is whether people will want to wait that long. As already mentioned, we've seen leaks for basically all of 2025 and they show neither Straxus nor a "blank Leader" slot.

The usual leakers first told us about this toy at least two years ago, Straxus was supposed to have been the main villain behind a Legacy cartoon that never went forward, and it is probably not a coincidence that Kingdom Galvatron - itself beginning the design process in early 2020 if not sooner - has those random, rather pointless blasters which just happen to reserve an extra sprue that then was used for the pickaxe.

If they're willing to wait 3-4 years for an ROI of the tooling, just buy the thing now. Who knows where you'll be in 2027.

Yeah, but that canceled Straxus was also gonna have a very different design from this one.

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

There's been no new legacy toys in stores for so ******* long I am seriously considering starting to collect the earthspark stuff, which recently got a new wave.

I think it'd be hilarious if this Straxus mold did see a mainline release... but remolded with the Stupid Sexy Straxus head. :D

I'm of much the same opinion. I HATE (add a few more of those for emphasis, please) the comic-style cel shading. I'm SO glad that it's not very prominent on Straxus, and (as you said) don't hold out much hope for another version, so I'm getting this one while I can.

The box, at least, is gorgeous, although I do wish they used original cover with the surprint (that is, the background with Cybertron, the space bridge, and the Earth) rather than the recreation used for IDW's TPB that lost the surprint details.

That's what would get me to buy him, honestly.
