Please, PLEASE, if King Atlas happens, I want him to be store-line Legacy so bad just to see if they'll actually put "Universe Universe" on his packaging.

I don't care much about Prime Skyquake or really the UK G1 version, though it's neat it seems to thread the needle a bit.

I probably wouldn't look to get this version. But give me Machine Wars Starscream or King Atlas and I'd be on board.

-ZacWilliam, just don't do a 2-pack of them because ouch Price.

Leader class Skyquake is really cool. I will say, though, that I may have mistransformed or missed some things here. It is clearly pre-tooled for an eventual G1/2 Skyquake and possibly even some other figures. I ran into several odd features, like the tabs on the top-rear of the alt-mode, which seem to have no real function on this figure. The jet cockpit is also able to rotate 180°, seemingly for no purpose, as it does not appear to actually contribute to the conversion. I am very interested to see the future uses of this mold, and feel like it is a great CHUG version of the original Prime character.

I feel like he’s close enough you don’t even need to change anything for a G1/2 version.

Just slap those colors on there. King Atlas first.
Just from what I can discern…the shoulders are actually part of the front part of the jet’s contours. So if they had alternate tooling for the shoulders, you could shorten the pauldrons and give the jet mode that elongated “Blackbird” look. Depending on how froggy Hasbro was feeling when designing this…I could also see an alternate headsculpt to better evoke Dai Atlas. Especially since the only way he’s apt to get made, accurately, would be a HasLab, IMO.
And by mixing those elements with what we see on Legacy Skyquake, I think Hasbro could get some decent mileage out of this tooling set.
And all that’s on top of what appears to be a really solid looking toy in general!

Given Mark Maher’s professed love for G2 and Machine Wars, I figure Starscream is a safe bet. In all reality, I think Hasbro has enough “working slots” between the mass retail line, Buzzworthy, the Walmart AND Amazon “micro lines”, and Generations Selects that we should be able to get MW Starscream and King Atlas (retooled or not) over the next 12-18 months.
And, hell, I’d even be game for a Prime Dreadwing with that pretty dark blue and yellow deco!

I like the look of the mold, definitely, but I'll probably skip this first go-round and wait for the repaints. It looks good in these colors, but I have no attachment to Prime and a leader class is too expensive a mold to purchase TOO many times, and the inevitable G1 Skyquake and Machine Wars Starscream would both be must-buys.

If he didn't have a nose, I'd say he's perfect as is for King Atlas or MW Starscream. Since he has one i hope a super slavish head sculpt is in the waiting. Either way, this in MW Starscream colors could easily be one of my favorite figures of the past couple years.

Also not sure why they'd do Skyquake before Dreadwing. But I guess they did that during the Prime line too, huh?

Yeah - seems like an easy way to get the less exciting repaint done while taking advantage of the "new mold" sales.

According to tfwiki and Dave's site... yes. I have no idea why I remembered that wrong.
It's probably because Skyquake was announced first. The decision to instead release Dreadwing first was made later.

You're not alone - I definitely thought we got them in that order too. Oh well.

Anyway, I like the looks though it's strange the head has so little paint detail. I'd dismiss it as an unfinished proto but everything else seems done. Meanwhile, I prefer this paint scheme to either Starscream (more black and gray) or even King Atlas. Truthfully, I wish this matched the original Skyquake paint scheme more (but I know it's the Prime version so...).
