I have seen very little in the way of backlash from the internet making a joke out of this death.
On my own facebook, after posting a particularly funny meme my old science teacher said he wasn't happy with it. None other than the Boss Monkey, Gary Chalk responded to him. (gotta admit, a bit thrilled that Mr. Chalk perused my page. don't wanna fanboy out, but OMG!!!)

In all seriousness, I sincerely hope every executive in the health insurance industry is losing sleep. On behalf of every person whose had a claim denied and their family, I hope every one of you has a heart attack and has your care denied because of your own policies.

As one in security, it's also hilarious just how much private security firms are now charging. Get your money, boys.

One of the key things which developed my political views when growing up was seeing that early episode of The Simpsons where Homer Simpson has a heart attack. You know, where the family can’t afford the treatment. Before then I had no idea how healthcare worked (or didn’t) in America, that there was a complete lack of anything like our NHS, which itself isn’t something to take for granted. That got me looking into the history of how the NHS came into being and the battles fought to get it into existence. Among other things.

I wake up again. They still haven't found him.

I don't know when it's actually going to be too late, but the window has to be closing.

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

We'll find out in 30 years when the killer writes a tell-all book.

And how is an insurance company a better decision maker than a practicing doctor when it comes to healthcare? Dodge vs the Ford Motor Company enshrined the rule that corporations primary obligation is not to their customers, not to their employees, not for the good of society but to to their shareholders pocketbooks. The best way for an insurance company to do that is to deny coverage for as much as possible while increasing premiums.

If we MUST have private insurance companies, at least make it so they have to be run as non-profits.....

New York Mayor Eric Adams has stated they know who the shooter is but they won't release his name because that'll tip him off but they're closing in on him.

Sure you are Adams. Sure you are. Best put another half a million cops on subway lines so they can charge the city more overtime hours and you'll close, oh I don't know, Times Square in order to pay them.

Ironbite-idiot.

Knowing his name likely won't help much anyway. Those who know where he is right now aren't talking and he's probably thousands of miles away from New York by now.

Dec 7 (Reuters) - (This Dec. 7 story has been corrected to clarify that it is not known whether the suspect has been identified in the headline, paragraphs 1 and 6)

They got nothing.

Doesn't look like they will, either. Wouldn't be surprised if someone who knows him got him plane tickets out of the country at this point.

This feels like a big moment. It's a clear crime. Premeditated murder. Every executive wants him found and made an example of. The media wants him. NYPD wants him. Crime Stoppers wants him. The FBI wants him. But nobody's talking.

Even if they find him, I can't imagine a jury convicting him.

That's what people were saying on day 1, but now it's questionable if we'll even get to that point. They don't even have a suspect yet.
