What stupid thing did the GOP say or do this time? Episode 3!

It's not like he's the first Speaker to win with a few votes from their own caucus going rogue.

He's just the first idiot in a century to not have been able to sort things out before the voting started.

I don't see McCarthy lasting past these two years. He's got to know what's coming up and the absolute jive show he's going to preside over. It may be a good time to retire.

wonko the sane?

He gave the people who arbitrarily HATE HIM the ability to call a vote to remove him. He won't last two weeks.

Then we get to go through all this jive again because there's probably no one in any position willing to try for 218 votes since they can still be randomly and arbitrarily voted out. This session is probably going to preside over massive changes to senate rules; since it will be a complete and utter halt to procedure since some simp republican will scream "no confidence" the very first chance they get, every, *******, time.

At least it will be a very public jive show. The more explosive, the better. When we come to the 2024 elections and nothing has gotten done in two years, no one will be able to pretend they don't know why, and Republican voters will be as demoralized as the rest of us are literally every year of our miserable lives and not even bother to show up at the polls. Or maybe they'll get mad enough to storm the Capitol again, but this time gunning for their own party specifically.

We can only hope.

The lawful evil faction and the chaotic evil faction of the Republican Party are finally at a breaking point. The fight is gonna happen no mater what at this point so I say just let them fight. Let the Trumpers start calling EVERY prominent republican elected from the inception of the party until around 2008 a RINO while more traditional Republicans keep pointing out how unhinged the Trumpers are becoming. At the very least the infighting can help bolster the Dem's power(assuming the Dem's are smart enough to take advantage of it, which I don't have much faith in).

We might actually be in a situation now where we have to rely on the GOP's corruption to prevent the debt ceiling battle from tanking the world economy. After all, they answer to their donors and their donors probably won't want that to happen.

You think the donors control anyone in the GQP? HAH!

Ironbite-these are the people who wanna open investigations into corporations that STOP donating to the GQP like it's a crime.

If the Republicans want to lash out at their former corporate overlords, I say let 'em. Either they'll learn the hard way how much power those people really have, or they'll succeed in toppling the oligarchy that's been keeping both parties from being much more than puppets of big business. Then, stripped of their campaign funding, the neoliberal wing of the Democratic Party will fall and the leftists will take over, and then the real fun begins.

Thankfully said tax bill will die in the senate if the house manages to pass it. Absolutely nothing will be done for the next two years. Absolutely nothing.

As far as the Education and Labor Committee renaming.. They wanted to rename it the Education and Slavery Committee, but the 13th amendment got in the way.

They've been doing that since trump was in. They have no reason not to anymore: there are no consequences and their base applauds them for saying it.
