What stupid thing did the GOP say or do this time? Episode 3!

I don't know why you're wasting popcorn on this one. It'll be boring:

gaetz will file a motion to vacate, it'll come to a vote, the democrats will save mccarthy, gaetz and his little crew of fascist fuckwits will be rendered irrelevant.

All this is going to do is push the house back towards center and end the power that the freedom caucus was abusing. The republicans don't have enough votes on their own to remove mccarthy, and the bulk of them don't even like the freedom caucus.

Um....you wanna rethink that?

Ironbite-BYE BYE BYE!

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

Holy hug... alright, I was wrong. It's not going to be boring. Kinda shocked to see the democrats hug this thing up though. Without the speaker, they can't achieve anything, and no one else will get voted in. Republicans can't come to a decision on their own because the cultists don't have the sway to get another cultist in and the "normals" can't get voted in without the cultists, and will unilaterally NOT vote for a democrat.

This might end up being more effective than a government shutdown.

Edit: christ; hug the popcorn. Gonna need to get some supplies for pizza sticks!

Not quite. Patric McHenry is Speaker Pro tempore. Doesn't quite have the same level of prestige as Speaker of the House, but can do most of said duties while the spot is empty.

That isn't what happened.

Considering his history of sucking up to Trump, impeding aid to Ukraine, reneging on any given promise he's made, and generally being a douchenozzle, there's no reason at all to save McCarthy. Yeah, they could've tried getting him to make some promises later, but he's never kept any before, so why trust him now?

The only real downside is that selecting a new Speaker is going to be the GOP's new method of delaying the House from actually doing anything.

Reminder: it took them 15 rounds of voting to get McCarthy in in the first place, and one of the specific rules he agreed to was that any single House member could introduce a vote to remove him. *continues with the popcorn*

Considering reality has already proved me wrong today: I'm going to say that I don't think they'll get anything other than a temp till the new year. The numbers don't work to elect anyone officially.

AND back on schedule.

I need some of that popcorn.

I have no fear that the almost entirety of the GOP members will vote for Trump. But it is a meat grinder. All of the sudden out of nowhere the entire House of Representatives will be asked to give Trump their allegiance or not....

There goes pretty much any chance of a GOP pickup. Although the other big name thinking about getting in for the GOP was weirdo Blake Masterson who also lost in the midterm cycle so they didn't have much of a chance anyway.

So she's given up on the whole "Governor-in-exile" bit to which she was previously 110% committed?

Well, that was a pivot.

Question is, does this siphon away Sinema voters or does it drain Gallego voters? Time will tell.

Oh hey, speaking of Matt Gaetz, his whole MTV stunt might just be his last gasp in Congress. Cause even with McCarthy gone, the ethics committee is still investigating him.

Ironbite-and might expel him! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

He doesn't care. He's already planning to run for governor in Florida once DeSantis is out.
