So it looks like Alabama will be getting a special master to redraw its electoral map after they refused to follow a court order to reflect the Black populace.

wonko the sane?

Yeah, a bunch of red states are in similar positions; texas, florida and wisconsin (I think wisconsin.) are names I've heard in relation to fixing gerrymandered maps of late.

Seems the decades of republican systemic abuse are coming to a head and finally being addressed. Granted, so long as there are still republicans: there will only be the barest minimum of changes, but it's a start.

Yea, Florida's map is being contested, but the case isn't as far along as it is in Alabama. Gerrymandering is the only reason they have control of the House at the moment, so the GOP is probably in near panic mode over this stuff.

That's literally just republican policy on climate. The only difference now is that they aren't doing it to remove cost, regulation and oversight on billionaires, but to spite democrats.

Oh no, it's definitely both, but the ratio's have switched. It USED to be about making money for the rich and spitting democrats and progressives was the icing.

Can we just teleport all of them to Mars already and elect people who actually care more about the citizens than the money......I'm completely fine with a bit of Leverage style grift has long has it benefits everyone not just a select few.

If you're going to waste the energy teleporting them to mars: you might as well just save 99% of that energy and just immolate them. Don't want some kinda indian burial ground situation on mars when the rest of us get there with the pipes and wires and cots and jive anyway.

FB friend:
my old man (who hates trump almost as much as i do) just made this observation a few days ago when hunter's indictment came up on tv after jeopardy, and added how insane it is that MAGAts act like ******* insurrection isn't a big deal.

Improper paperwork is a fun way of saying he lied on federal forms. You can tell Facebook friend knows very few Republicans and listens to/reads even less because the overwhelming consensus from the right is the gun charges are the very least of what Hunter Biden should be charged with and might just be a slap on the wrist to say "hey, we charged him SOMETHING" and try to get the matter over and done with after the DoJ's sweeping sweetheart plea deal fell apart.

No one's saying he didn't break any laws...but it's being treated as worse than it is, specifically by people who don't seem to want the laws he broke to even exist.

I'm going to put this here because we should never forget that such rabid anti-choice extremism only exists in the first place because of the Republican party influencing the conservative Protestant churches and not the other way around.
