I always assumed Blitzwing's cockpit went in front in tank mode, mostly because I preferred his jet thrusters in the back. But a quick Google of his G1 toy packaging and instructions confirms that the cockpit does indeed go in the back!
DeDRM can be made to work with the desktop Kindle Reader program, but you have to locate and install an older version (the current one's DRM is too strong) and it sounds like you've got yourself covered anyway!

That is pretty much correct. Your new purchased-through-Amazon comics now show up in your Kindle Content. I imagine that the Comixology books page is merely a temporary holding area for your past purchases.
Yes, you can use the Transfer Via USB option, which gives you a DRMed AZW3 file. However, you can use the Calibre ebook management software with the DeDRM plugin to strip the DRM and convert it to a ZIP/CBZ for your own use.
