I would like the smaller compromised retail option just to have something.

I feel this way about Unicron. I can't justify a toy that expensive (in addition to my regular buying) and I don't even have a place for something that big, but I wouldn't mind replacing my Armada Unicron with something closer to the 1986 movie model at a Titan size / pricepoint.

I didn't get in on HasLab Omega Prime, but I have the originals (possibly twice, I got a lot of Transformers from my brothers and they had the set as well) as well as the "Spychanger" versions in 2 flavors. I do feel like they could be accomplished at retail in the same vein as the Weaponizers etc, albiet at a higher price point and without the extras. (I would personally love to get a retail release of just the Bluebolts figure for my vintage figures!)

On the other hand, I'd kind of like to see the pair reimagined as an Energon-style shirt/pants combination; we could have an Omega Prime configuration and an Omega Magnus configuration. Given the recent Earthspark sets, I feel like this could be accomplished at retail, maybe even at the Voyager price point so the pair could be wavemates? They wouldn't be that close to the originals, but would at least revisit a unique combination concept from the RiD era.

Whenever this comes up I keep figuring it'll be enough to have a Commander for the OP (so WFC Leader with a bigger budget, and Motormaster/Armada Op have shown what they can do with "combine with trailer" situations) and Leader for the Armor Buddy (Godbomber, God Magnus). The RID OP/Fire Convoy trailer doesn't even have to be Superpants or anything, just break apart into armor bits as well.

And the Armor Buddies are basically big Weaponizers of their own, and Godbomber and God Magnus don't have an inner robot situation going on (unlike WFC G1 Magnus) so that's less to engineer. Gauntlets, boots, torso with stow-in head and standard articulation, accessories.

I mean, I don't think I'd ever try to sell people on having this rather than the HasLab set, but it seems doable if one is open to compromises at retail price points (and I'm a Transformers collector, I have a degree in that.) They'd be smaller, of course, at the least, but that's kinda preferable to me.

Considering that the Haslab Omega Prime is too big for the Legacy figs, I'd be happy if a decently-priced, smaller version came out.

Well I mean it’s not like these characters are off limits FOREVER

I guarantee we’ll see another Unicron of some sort. Same with the others.

An Optimus from an American shown series is undoubtedly going to happen again in a decade (or half) or so. Even if it’s released as the yellow version first.

Honestly they could probably run Omega Prime: But This Time It's Yellow Splendid as the 2026 HasLab and get it fully backed quicker than the first go.

Absolutely. If you're going to go Universe, go full Universe.

I wonder what I would sacrifice to strike the lot of last-page fanclub bullshit from memory/record/continuity/canon/existence.
Huh. You got me curious, so I did a quick search on the Wiki. I hadn't realized that Shotimus Prime was a real thing, and had never heard of "Hot Shot's Bot Thoughts" before. Thanks for helping to spread that knowledge!

This one has me scratching my head on how I'm going to display. I really love the individual bot modes, but LioKaiser is so damn cool looking. My CW combiners pretty much stay in combined mode for display. I could see leaving them in individual bot modes and displaying them standing around Deathsaurus. Who knows, these might be ones that I alternate regularly.

Also, good to have some confirmation about DeathCobra's accessories. I'm hopeful they can work out a way to at least get a stand for him.
Simple solution:

Buy two. Have one set combined, and the rest in robot mode standing around him, like Rangers around a Megazord.
