No problems with mine, but I did add a small amount of red paint on the wings, as the stickers just didn't hold up. It's just Gundam Marker so it comes off with alcohol if I needed to. hardest part was masking it. I also added the guns and sword blade from the DNA kit, the rest was left as-is, because I didn't see any advantage for the longer wings or face change.

I bought four upgrade kits for mine, and none of them were the one from DNA Design.

Mine was in storage for a large portion of these two years while we recovered from a basement flood, but he's out on display now. He's in my big display cabinet, backing up Rodimus against Unicron.

So, it’s been 2 years today since mine showed up and I still love this guy. He’s still out on display, and the only one who hasn’t been rotated off of my shelf in that time. How’s everybody else feeling about him?
I'm still incredibly happy with both Victory Sabre and Deathsaurus.

What kits did you buy?
These four:

Though, I got the first three from eBay while the fourth I got from TFSafari.

The first kit features a larger, more size-appropriate sword blade for Star Saber, and two cannon extensions for Victory Leo's twin cannons. I wanted the sword blade since the official one is too tiny for Star Saber. I originally wasn't going to bother with the cannon barrels since I'd seen how tricky they were to attach in some video reviews on YouTube, but mine must have been from a revised batch as they slid on perfectly and, once attached, looked too nice not to use them.

The second kit features a smaller sword hilt sized for use with the official sword blade by Star Saber's smaller Saber form, as well as a pair of thigh extensions for Saber to make his legs longer and taller. The smaller hilt works perfectly with the official blade and looks great in Saber's hands. As for the thigh extensions, while they do make Saber's robot mode proportions look much less dinky, these extra pieces make it impossible to transform the figure back into either vehicle mode or torso mode for Star Saber, requiring them to be removed in order to do so. So, they're pretty pointless.

The third kit is the one I wanted the most, as it's a really cool accessory for Victory Leo. It's a sword and shield combo that actually gives his lion mode an articulated tail. I always disliked how Victory Leo's lion mode never had a tail, as it always felt incomplete without one. This set completes the look of the lion mode and gives the robot mode a cool knight vibe with the sword and shield. Also included are a pair of gap fillers for the gaps inside Victory Leo's robot thighs.

The fourth kit is the last one I got, containing a set of gap fillers for the undersides of Victory Leo's twin cannons, new arms for Saber that have no gaps anywhere on them (little doors cover the parts on the arms where there were gaps on the official figure's arms) and a different set of gap fillers for Victory Leo's thighs that are similar to the ones included in the third set (the third and fourth kits were made by different companies, so it wasn't the same company including the same product twice). I originally wasn't going to both with gaps on the undersides of the twin cannons, since I like how "tech-y" those gaps made them look. But after getting the barrel extensions from the first set, the more I thought about it, the more I kind did want to have gapless cannons. But I didn't want to go for DNA Design's set because I felt they have made their cannons way too long in length (as was the case, I felt, about their kit's sword blade, and the rest of the accessories in their kit seemed pointless to me), so I opted for this gap-filler kit for the cannons I already owned instead. The filler pieces had to be sanded down a bit in order to fit right, but I got them in, and they not only fill the gaps but also the seams left behind still give the cannons that original "tech-y" vibe as before. But as for the new arms, mine fit just way too tightly onto my Saber figure, as the mushroom pegs that attach to the shoulders aren't round enough. And they don't seem to fit as snugly into place for either vehicle or torso mode as the official arms do. I do still have them attached inside my figure's torso mode, but I'm considering switching back to the official gappy arms. And I didn't attach the gap fillers for Victory Leo's thighs since I'd already used the ones from the third kit, and once those are in place there doesn't seem to be any way of getting them back out. But I kinda wish I had used the ones from this set instead since they look to be able to cover a bit more of the gap area than the ones from the third set do.

I did get upgrade kits for my VS, the kit that is meant to fill in the arms, that kit was clearly not well thought through because it looks good in basic robot mode but when combining with the V-Star, they have to come off and be replaced with the original because otherwise they aren't compatable, but Victory Saber hasn't been into storage and stays out proudly with his upgrades, I never liked the sword blade that came with him, because it was to short to look like he means business, but one of the upgrades I got, fixed that issue for me, also swapping out Victory Leo cannons helps make him look far more imposing (in my eyes)! As for the Micromasters he comes with, their next to him where I got him displayed standing on top of storage boxes along with the ones who came with his arch enemy!

Nice. I bought the latter two kits, but I opted to get the DNA Design kit as well.

In my defense, I've had good experiences with their stuff.

As have I, but I looked at their Victory Saber kit multiple times and each time I was like "I don't like/want any of this".

The sword blade looks too big, the cannons are too long, the wing extensions make the wings stick out too far and throw off the proportions of their shape... and the new face is just unnecessary.

The only thing I have really wanted over the last two years is a bigger sword. I understand it was so it would fit in alt mode....but I feel like it's the one thing they really could have done better with this set.

I highly recommend the one I got from this set. And if you want a smaller hilt to give to Saber for the smaller official blade, the second set has you covered. Both are sold out at TFSafari, but I got mine from eBay (this auction allows you to choose between one, the other, or both sets, with free shipping regardless).

Exactly why I only use the blast effects for photo shoots then they go nicely back into a box.
Uh, question...

Three, actually.

1) I think I might have left Kingdom Rodimus Prime's in his trailer when I put it away. Not plugged in or anything, except what's left of the Matrix glow, maybe something else in that compartment if it fit, but the rest were kinda loose. Are they going to eat through the trailer or something?

2) Has Hasbro done anything to acknowledge or fix this yet? Or are they still sending out effects that are going to eat our collections if left unchecked?

3) Am I a sicko for thinking that if they are going to keep releasing toy-devouring effects that maybe Cosmic Rust effects would be kind of ironically cool, in a twisted sort of way?

I had mine in storage. Once I found out that the blast effects would eat plastic (via the shield being disfigured) I moved them all to a separate container.

Don’t store any of the soft plastic blast effects with other accessories/figures.

It's not just blast effects that are a problem, any soft plastic MAY do the same thing to hard plastic it's near, especially if that plastic is painted, for some reason. The soft fins on Combiner Wars airplanes of all sorts (and POTP ones too like the Decepticon Powermasters) can do it. One of the reasons I was iffy on the soft plastic on the TFSS stuff and Ghostbusters as I could feel a tackiness where fins or hoses would touch plastic with paint. Nothing ever went bad, but that's because I kept things moving to avoid contact. Way too much trouble, and so when my fiascoes happened I was not that upset when I had to sell them. I am still very iffy on any Transformer with soft rubbery parts for that reason (Titans Return Weirdwolf and Mindwipe both had their softer plastic eat the surrounding stuff leading to hinges crumbling). I seriously considered the new Aerialbots and Fallen, but am holding both for financial reasons and also wanting to know if the fins/weapons are the same flexible stuff. It's even worse when the rubber part itself is painted. Then it can get sticky without touching ANYTHING...

Keep in mind this isn't limited to Transformers. I've seen old Masters of the Universe do the same thing with heads, legs, O-rings, etc. I've even seen an old eraser eat its way into a plastic desk drawer, looked like someone had spilled acid around a very old dry crumbly pink square, or a rubber snake dissolve the inside of a tupperware storage box.

I agree about the face and wing addons, which is why I never bothered to apply them to him in fact I forgot they existed as they are still off in the box, the sword, actually looks good, unlike that stuffy little thing that he came with

So blast effects bad?

Well it would probably be the partial cause to why the tips of the Victory Leo cannons came apart on mine. But may have to pull a bunch off today.
