I have my God Grini using the alt form as it makes him look SO much better but then mine also got the DNA addon kit attached
Found SS86 Galvatron today at Target. (They also had Apelinq, but I don't really care about him.) Having never picked up any previous version, it's a pretty nice mold. Kinda wish they'd outlined his Con symbol in white, since purple on purple isn't all that visible, but animation accuracy and all that.
Also, these two look great together.
Every time I see a picture of that Galvatron, it just makes me more mad about my v1 Kingdom version!
I found both Apelinq and Galvatron at Target today, too. But I didn't have the money for either since I had recently already done some grocery shopping that put a big enough dent in my bank account. And the Galvatron had big gashes of paint all over its upper torso that clearly weren't supposed to be there, so I wasn't interested in buying a factory error.

I never had the original Armada Galvatron, but this seems like he's show accurate? I donno. I like the way his purple meshes with the warm off-white.
I think that's what they went for. I had the original toy briefly (gave it up in a batch of stuff because of financial reasons) and am very fond of its colors, so I was hoping to see it again. But the focus is different here, alas.

Man, this version really does look better, but unless it goes on deep clearance, I don't see myself buying another version of that mold.

I get the feeling you might be waiting YEARS for another Galvatron, I'm still waiting for them to take another crack at Thunderwing, with Galvatron it will be sometime as they'll likely have Megatron on the radar for 86, its a question of what will they do when they run out of 86 characters to put into their studio series line as all of the major characters from the film been given modern toys, thou I expect when they do 86 Rodimus, aside from using the Kingdom mold, they might retool the face and then dec him out in the colours he had at the end of the movie
I'm betting Galvatron will just keep using the same mold for a long time yet, until they decide to downsize Leaders again and he's suddenly too big for the price point.
maybe they'll down size this one like they did to the tank one with the feet back in the day.
