The Dreadwing and Skyquake releases have backpack assemblies that break off. Don't know if Megaplex has it.
Ah, so my Skyquake in storage gets to be yet another Schrodinger's pile of bits. Hoo-freakin-ray.
Apparently Mark pitches a Machine Wars capsule every year and it keeps getting shot down
Just doesn't look like him. The jet mode is fine but that head sculpt just doesn't work.
I'd disagree for the reasons I stated. Aligned and Animated both had enough going on to give a deeper meaning to the rallying cry, TFOne was just the first fiction to make it explicit.
I do miss FunPub in a way, and I think they got a lot of undeserved hate.

Look at how much easier the exclusive capsules have been to get than the BotCon sets. I mentioned this in another thread, but there was justifiable concern that without an official collector's club the deep cuts would stop. Not only has that not happened, but the Gen Selects and exclusive capsules (and even mass retail in cases) have been far easier and less hassle free for fans to get if they want them.
I'm not saying BotCon as an official convention had to die. I think it's clear that the post-Archer brand team at Hasbro was excited to work with BotCon, only for Hasbro higher ups to kill it.
It's just that I think FunPub's business model was no longer viable in the late 2010s. If they were to keep the licence and continue doing their thing, they'd have to evolve and enter the 21st century. 'cause right up until the end they were doing business like it was 1997.
Well, that's a shame. But then, maybe it's a matter of being outvoted for what seemed like better capsules. There have been a few less-than-stellar items but generally the capsules have been pretty good. I agree. Honestly? I think I've been a fan of all of the capsules they've done. Velocitron is probably my least favourite overall and I still have a good chunk of it.
But still... if Mark's story is accurate it means that at some point they had "Machine Wars" and "Cancelled G2 Decos" on the table and voted for "Cancelled G2 Decos"
Machine Wars might be the nichiest of niche ideas at this point. At least for another decade, when there's enough nostalgia for the Reacticate "line"
There's apparently a Thunderclash head tooling on the Legacy Motormaster mould. Which means he'd also work as MW Optimus!
My idea would be to do Machine Wars Optimus from Legacy Motormaster, MW Prowl and Mirage from Legacy Dragstrip, and then MW Hubcap and Hoist as retools from AotP Swindle. MW Autobot Combiner. KB-97. Let's go.

Of ideas that have been on the table but not seen fruition, I guess. There's still a bunch of stuff out there. And this is the team that dipped into Halloween Horrorcons (to make, well, one of them) for a Cheetor redeco. Thing is... so am I. I REALLY like that G2 capsule. It's probably my favourite they've done.

It would have been a tough call for me, but I'm sorry "never produced/never had a toy before" stuff is almost always going to win me over, even on sublines that I've been wanting them to homage since the start of WFC trilogy. At this point they really do only need a Thunderclash to be able to make the entire line updated.
With Mark continuously pushing for it, I'm still hoping for a good Machine Wars capsule someday soon. Like everybody said, the molds are all there.
But I also am so glad that we got the "Unreleased G2" capsule. I would take more of those. We still need Blackout and Jungle-deco Starscream!

1-Unreleased/never had a toy before stuff (huge move in that direction already with the G2 capsule line and the Marvel Comics sublines for which I am super grateful)
2-Go-Bots as Transformers
3-Euro G1/G1.5/G2 (Dammit, where are the Predators, Hasbro! You've clearly been planning them!)
4- Machine Wars
5-Pretenders (Iguanus was one of my "never going to happen but I want it terribly" figures, and I can stress enough how happy I am with him). I've actually been liking the shell-to-altmode approach that they've been using.
6-Actionmasters as transforming figures
I was pretty checked out for the UT, fiction wise, but I did collect some of the (especially Cybertron) toys that I thought looked good with the Classics figures that I was collecting, so I'm not completely without nostalgia for that era, but it's not super high on my list.

Siege Spinnister. Heck, they're doing a Rotorstorm retool of him for the Wreckers vs Mayhem capsule so the new tooling's already done.
