401 Best of Both Worlds 2, ooooh I thought Shelby would die, haha. Well, whatever on her. I'm sure Picard's Borg look is popular or something, haha.
She shows up on Lower Decks, so I thought that you would know that she survives. She is at the party that is too exclusive for the Cerritos to join. And Borg Cosplay is a extremely popular to this day.
402 Family, ugh, drama. Loved Worf's human parents being European folks. They're so sweet.
First of all, this is literally my favorite episode of TNG and perhaps my favorite of all Star Trek.
Picard goes back home to France and honestly debates leaving Star Fleet, and even finds a friend that could use him for a project that he is interested in. He legitimately needs to work through his issues with what has just happened to him. His confrontation with his older brother Robert, where Picard finally just breaks down and talks about what he just endured, and his brother being the only one to be able to reassure him that he is just a Human being after all. That no one could have stopped the Borg from controlling them. Then the next scene with them both really drunk and covered in mud was great! Their explanation to Robert's wife is hilarious. Plus his brother's family is truly heart warming and I hate that we don't get to see them again, especially after Robert's character growth at the end.
Worf's parents give us some great stories about Worf. One thing to note is that his adoptive dad was the Chief of the ship that came to the outpost's rescue. That he found Worf in the wreckage, and he adopted him on the spot. It's also nice that they are still concerned that Worf is making friends. Also, that was another occurrence where the Federation came to the aid of the Klingons when they were attacked by the treacherous Romulans, and it helped set Federation and Klingon on the path to allies that we see in TNG and DS9.
Weasley getting to see his dad's sole recorded Message for him was a great moment for the character, but overall not as involved with the plot as much as Picard's storyline was.
403 Brothers, Lore! So he's running around with emotions now and malfunctioning? Crazy. I kinda thought that the reveal of Data's creator being alive meant sooooome sort of reveal that he's related to Khan. Like, isn't the name the same? Ish?
Similar sounding name, but they aren't related directly. You will see when you watch newer episodes that the Soong family is involved with the Eugentics programs. Lore's return was great, and I loved Data's Password From Hell in this episode. I don't like that Lore gets away with the emotion chip made for Data, but you will see Lore again. I did like the conversations that we got between Soong, Data and Lore in this episode, and how Lore gets to vent to his dad about what happened to him.
405 Remember Me, I saw a video saying that Boimler shouting Remember Me! while being sucked into the time portal in Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks crossover is a reference to this ep. A bit creepy ep but I realized that I like Ship in a Bottle eps, it is mostly when I liked the brainiacs at work. I wasn't too wild about Beverly Crusher's side of things. I liked the Geordi, Data, even Wesley crunching info then Picard, Riker making all the hard decisions. Oh, cool on bringing that Traveler back. But I thought he 'died' when he disappeared. How'd they know how to contact him?
The Traveller has been watching Wesley ever since their first encounter. Wesley is a bit different and special, and the Traveller will show up again. Eventually you will find out more in Picard S2. Back to the episode, this is a great one! Crusher gets to do something, and the crazyiness of the plot really shows how great she is at handling all of this.
407 Reunion, yeeeeah Worf should have used protection, hahaha. Is this the last time Alexander will be seen in Next Gen? He's all grown up in DS9.
Very sorry to have Worf's lady die but c'moooon! She could have at least been shown to have defended herself better, like wounded Duras enough that when Worf kills him, it would be also be attributed to her as well.
Since I saw DS9 first and going at this backwards, the actual resolution to Worf's family name being disgraced is resolved by... Word being absorbed into another Klingon family? His brother Kurn had his mind wiped in DS9 so he can given to another family as well. I can't remember anymore. But if so, Mogh the dad is still considered a traitor.
Alexander is in the show a lot. For a while he will live with Worf's parents, but eventually joins Worf on the Enterprise.
Duras, is a formidable fighter though. As much as he is a dishonorable punk that comes from a long line of dishonorable punks, he is competent fighter and in a strong enough house to be consider for Chancelor. Him showing up there to fight an unarmed woman, it's not surprising that she stood little chance. Worf's flat out murder of Duras was great though. I loved how even on Duras' own ship, they wouldn't stop or even interfere with the fight once Worf claimed to be her mate.
We haven't got to the resolution of Mogh and his family's disacomadation. It does take place in TNG though, and gives us some great episodes. As a reminder of DS9, Worf and his family were Dishonored in DS9 again because Worf refused to join the war against the Cardassians when the Klingons were accusing them of being led by Changlings. Worf saw the war as dishonorable, and Gowron dishonored his house, thus his brother Kurn was affected and that is why he shows up on DS9. Worf eventually proves to Gowron that the Changlings were behind the Klingons going to war. Gowron keeps Worf's family dishonored then, because Worf could have, and should have killed him. After finding and freeing the real Martok, Martok makes Worf his second in command on his ship. Worf gets Martok over his PTSD by losing in a challenge to him, which makes Martok into his old self again. Knowing what Worf did, he offers to let Worf join his house as his brother. Worf accepts and eventually his son Alexander joins the Martok house as well.
